Soundwave had had enough.
He was sick of waiting. He was sick of words not being enough to voice his concerns. That had been the exact reason why he had abandoned the Council, and now it had been the reason he'd abandoned Starscream's little compound.. at least part of the reason. Soundwave was already concerned enough that the Autobots and G.H.O.S.T. were fully capable of mimicking actual Autobot signals. What was to stop them from mimicking Decepticon signals to lure them out of hiding only to ambush them? He'd told Starscream his concerns only to be blown off; to be told he was wasting his time worrying about the old war when he should be focusing on getting the Decepticons off Earth. That had frustrated him enough that Starscream was instead angry with him over that whole situation, but then there was what happened with Nightshroud. She had been just as foolish and had almost gotten herself killed, yet Starscream was perfectly happy to accept that.
That had been the final straw. Soundwave in anger fled the base, and he'd yet to return. That had been months ago, and while losing out on a vast supply of energon hurt it was easier to get away from that and focus on what he felt was more important. Destroying whatever means the Autobots and G.H.O.S.T. had to replicate signals would help protect the rogue Decepticons, and if he could deal with Megatron at the same time?
All the better.
For now he lurked in the woods making sure he didn't stray too close to the town of Witwicky. Just close enough that he could listen in on the radio chatter, and it seemed like things were going wonderfully for the Autobots. Apparently there was something going on with humans who could now transform, and the humans were blaming the Autobots for it. Soundwave didn't know the details, but he was quite curious as he sent Frenzy into town to gather some intel. She'd decided to run in dressed to the nines in human clothing, and just enough to appear semi-human considering how buried in clothing she was. Frenzy came back a few hours later, carrying handfuls of human junk. Apparently Megatron had attacked the human police in Witwicky during the discourse, and she'd had television footage that she found to prove it. Maybe.. Megatron wasn't entirely lost afterall.
Wasn't like Soundwave was going believe it either way. Not until he had the chance to speak with the guy himself. For now, he sat around in the woods as he cradled Ravage lost in his own thoughts.

Quake finally found Soundwave. It was about time. The guy had been missing for a long time.
Quake transformed out of his tank mode and walked up behind Soundwave.
"There you are you big sycophant." Quake muttered. "I know this might be hard to belive coming from me, but we Decepticons have to stick together. I thought you of all cons would understand that"
He crossed his arms. "Did you hear the news? About Megatron?"

The week following the incident involving Scott seemed to drag agonizing slow.
In an unfortunate twist of fate, Megatron had gone from redeemed war monger to seemingly snapped back into old ways in single blow. Depending on which news network or social media outlet one watched, he was portrayed as having a moment of just "snapping" to being a redeemed protector he had worked so hard to show himself to be. News networks seemed to be no different on Earth than they had been on Cybertron. In one view, one side looked heroic and the other the villain and vice versa, never giving the full story or situation, and what true footage did float around seemed to be put into question. Regardless of how one sliced it, Megatron still had committed an act that put him on GHOST and human police radar, ironically now a fugitive himself, but it was an act that left him in a mixed state.
Megatron had allowed his carefully held together fury be unleashed, protecting the Terrans and one of their friends, another unusual hybrid it seemed, but potentially revealing just how dangerous and menacing he had once been. Though he had been nothing but upfront with the Terrans regarding his past, seeing it in person could be completely different. Honestly, he couldn't blame them if they decided to no longer have anything to do with him as a whole. So, the former warlord had taken to hiding away in hidden locations between Witwicky and Autobot City, for once in his function resorting to the use of a holo-avatar when he had seen no need for it previously. The only times he had bothered to risk discovery was visiting the Malto family, worried about the Terrans and if they were okay since the event. But, he only dared reveal himself to Dot and Alex, not wanting to add to the stress the family was already undoubtedly feeling given what had happened. Finishing one such check-in, Megatron had slipped away, keeping his visits short and moving away feeling it was getting about that time to move on from Witwicky or risk discovery.
Where exactly would he go? Primus only knew. But anywhere to avoid those he was supposed to perceive as allies. Scoffing as the thought crossed his mind, Megatron hadn't been walking long before a voice caught his attention causing the gray and black mech to pause for a moment, focusing his audials for a moment. He recognized the voice rather well, it belonged to none other than Quake. 'GHOST really is slacking isn't it, maybe they're not so dangerous after all.' Well, not at the present anyway...Curiosity tugging at his spark, Megatron moved silently to see who had Quake's attention this far out into the woods of Witwicky, pausing when he spotted the infamous warrior, shifting around slightly enough to spot another familiar face, Soundwave. "Please Quake, enlighten us to what news you're hearing about me." Megatron spoke up as he stepped from the trees, appearance looking haggard and additional new scratches adorning his armor and a tall tale marking of where his GHOST insignia had once sat.

Oh joy. Soundwave knew it would only be a matter of time before Quake tracked him down. He expressed his 'excitement' silently, simply turning to stare at the blue mech as he approached. Truthfully he'd heard the guy coming before he even spoke, though didn't know who it was immediately. With his sensitive hearing, Soundwave could hear things others couldn't. He recognized footsteps much further away when others would hear only silence. But why did it sound like Quake wasn't alone..? "QUAKE." Granted it only made sense that Quake was the one who sought him out given how badly he wanted to tear this planet asunder, and honestly Soundwave wondered just how long it would take for the guy to get tired of Starscream and his reluctance to deal with the Autobots and the humans. As Quake spoke to him, Soundwave didn't respond. He focused his attention toward the second set of footsteps trying to figure out who they belonged to as Frenzy took a few steps toward Quake. She hadn't removed her vast collection of human clothing quite yet still wearing baggy pants, a jacket that screamed 90's fashion, a beanie, a long scarf around her face and a pair of oversized gloves. The only part of her that really stood out as recognizable was her visor. "You kidding? We just found out not that long ago. To think that-."
Before Frenzy could finish Soundwave leapt to his pedes as he growled angrily, visor dimmed to display his anger. He'd finally figured out just who was among them just moments before the newcomer spoke. "TRAITOR!" Soundwave wasted zero time firing up his soundwaves, prepared to open fire on Megatron but willing to give him a few seconds to explain himself. "Well, well, well. How the turn tables." Frenzy grinned under her scarf, crossing her arms as the fabric of the jacket rubbed against itself. She knew exactly what she'd said, and she meant it. "I hear you attacked the humans! What, you get tired of being their lap dog?"

Quake's eyes widened.
"Megatron! You're here!" he exclaimed with a bit of nervousness.
He composed himself quickly.
"Yeah, what Frenzy said. That news! You beat the living snot out of some humans!" Quake said.
"So... does this mean you're back? Are you gonna help us conquer this fraking planet?"

Should he have expected any less of reaction from one of the bots who had been in his inner circle, one of the few mechs who he had considered the closest friends he had ever had since Optimus. One of the Decepticons who had been undyingly loyal. Deep down, Megatron regretted of all those who had decided not to turn over a new leaf it was the communications officer, hanging onto a hope he could reach out to Soundwave. Their last encounter had been as such, but resulted in them fighting instead.
Further actions he regretted.
"I did what was necessary, nothing more." Megatron growled softly towards Frenzy and Quake, turning his ruby red optics briefly from Soundwave, unflinching as the blue mech prepped his sound waves. "If you have seen the news, you would see that you dimwitted worthless scrap heaps. Our kind, our future, was at stake, innocent lives endangered by high authorities." Megatron spoke coldly towards those who had once been under his command, but hiding no venom regarding the authorities he had undoubtedly mutilated and killed. Albeit, his tone was not without remorse for the actions he had resorted to. He took no thrill in his actions. "And I've never been their lap dog Frenzy, I just realized the error of my ways."
Not that they would ever see that; so blind were they to the precarious problems their kind now faced, so held up on the past they couldn't see straight. Letting out a heavy sigh, Megatron focused back on his former friend, "But if you so feel inclined Soundwave, do what no one else has accomplished and end my existence if you truly feel as such, become the hero the universe seems so eager to have." The former warlord decided to press with his once most loyal follower, covering the space between them in a few strides, making several feet to mere inches apart. "I don't intend to return to chaos and conquest, so you might as well take out one of your biggest problems no?" If Soundwave wanted to, he could destroy the warlord without issue having seen how those soundwaves had torn apart several Autobots and traitors in the past firsthand. Had even felt them during some training sessions they'd have on lower settings, so it wouldn't take much with the right frequency.
"I was protecting young Cybertronians, our future. Without Cybertron, without the means to bring life back, Earth is unfortunately our home, and we are intrinsically tied to it. What I started, what the Decepticons started, drove us to the brink of extinction and I realized just how far the madness of bloodlust and conquest drove us. Are you lot so stubborn to not see that?" Megatron inquired one last time, wondering just how deep the hooks of revenge had dug.

It didn't matter what Megatron said. It no longer mattered after everything he had done. That was what Soundwave told himself as he glared at the mech he once idolized, ready to fire his weapons at any moment. He knew full well that Megatron knew what he could do, and truthfully Soundwave didn't care as Quake and Frenzy chose to speak with the former Decepticon leader. As much as he wanted to rip Megatron to pieces at that very moment, he was at least willing to listen to what the mech had to say. He owed him at the very least that much given the time they had spent together both before and during the war. So much sacrificed.. his cushy life in Iacon, a seat on the Council. He threw it all away to side with the lower caste citizens of Kaon. To Megatron. To D-16. All to be thrown back in his face the moment Megatron switched sides. Frenzy turned to Quake as he posed his question, narrowing her optics at the mech. "Really? You're gonna welcome this rust bucket back with open servos after what he did to us? Don't forget you guys were thrown in jail cause of him!" She wasn't even going to go into that subject as Megatron explained his situation, though Soundwave however had every intention of bringing it up. All it took was Megatron starting with 'I did what was necessary'. Had he really? Was everything a necessity to him? Whether he was protecting young Cybertronians or not, it didn't excuse the many lost because of Megatron's choice to abandon everything he fought for. To side with those who supported the very ideals he fought against! Temptation to strike came forth again as Megatron drew closer, egging Soundwave on. The spymaster growled angrily, shutting down his soundwaves. "I did what was necessary." Soundwave played Megatron's words right back to him, leaning forward with visor burning red. His next words he spoke venomously, wishing his former ally to know just how angry he was. Just how hurt."WAS RUMBLE NECESSARY? YOU KILLED MY RUMBLE!" No longer holding back, Soundwave swung his right servo to slug Megatron as hard as he could growling all the while. He didn't care what attention he was even he was potentially drawing at this point. This was a long time coming. Maybe Megatron didn't directly kill Rumble, but his actions certainly had.
