Nightshade took a book and headed into the woods to sit and read. The weather was nice out and they wanted to catch up on a good book series they had just gotten into. It was a nice fantasy adventure series and Nightshade was enthralled with the series so far!
Sitting under a tree, the green owl like Terran settled in for awhile, opening their book to their marked page and began to read. The birds chirped brightly overhead and there were a few puffy clouds in the sky. The weather was AMAZING and Nightshade was glad to be enjoying it before the weather turned!

The weather couldn't have been any more perfect. How could Clematis not resist the urge to go out for a hike in the woods?
Spring was a wonderful time. The planet was waking from it's seasonal cold embrace as birds sang and flowers bloomed. Spring was the perfect time to take the day off work and just explore in the woods to admire it's splendors. The azure and lilac femme had set out early in the morning so she could have the entire day to just wander around in the woods. It was always a peaceful place as most Cybertronians tended to avoid it due to the trees being in such close proximity to each other along with the lack of any roads, but that was the best part to Clematis. Despite everything, nature couldn't be contained and it always found a way to thrive whether burned to a cinder or locked in the deep freeze of winter. True humans did damage when they saw fit, but nature always found a way to do it's best to thrive; to not be contained.
It was something she wished humans understood more. Nature wasn't just beautiful, but it was helpful too! So many plants could be used to help ease all kinds of ailments, though they could be just as deadly in their own right at the same time. It all depended on how it was used, and that was something that fascinated Clematis.
By the time she'd reached the tree where the young Terran was settled, Clematis had already tucked away a few flowers that she'd spotted in the wilderness both for research and pure decoration. At first she didn't spot the other bot, only noticing them sitting comfortably on the ground with book in servo when she was only a few feet away. "Oh! Sorry. I wasn't expecting to see anyone else out here. Enjoying the nice weather, too?" The femme smiled sweetly, backing up a couple feet to kindly give the other bot some personal space. "My name's Clematis. What's yours?"

Nightshade looked up, startled. They hadn't been expecting to run into anyone that day and were a little surprised to see another mecha. This one bore an Autobot insignia and they relaxed.
"I didn't expect to either. But yes. I am enjoying the weather. It's a nice day to read a book."
Nightshade held up the book they were reading. Their reading interests had grown significantly since their dad had given them that first book the day their siblings seemed to leave them behind to play tag. Nightshade marked their place and closed the book to give Clematis their full attention.
"My name is Nightshade. I live with the Malto family nearby. Bumblebee is my mentor."
Well, their mentor but the others weren't there at the moment.

Clematis kept smiling as she listened to the bot speak about the book they were reading, sitting down on the ground as well while leaving some space between herself and Nightshade. It was quite unusual to see a Cybertronian reading an actual Earth style book and not one downloaded straight onto their datapad, but there were those that did have interest in the lesser technological way. Books themselves seemed so fragile; so easily damaged but Nightshade seemed so careful with the book as they showed it to the azure and lilac femme.
But what really caught her interest was when they introduced themselves. Clematis' optics lit up with interest, eager to speak with the forest green bot some more. "Wait.. Malto? You must be one of the Terrans, right?" Clematis' smile only grew. "I met Hashtag only a few months ago, so it's nice to meet another Terran like you, Nightshade. I'm a friend of Bumblebee's." Granted she'd only met him mere days before she had met Hashtag. "I work at a pharmacy in Autobot City called Cyber-Remedies. I'm a medic that specializes in making medicine for other Cybertronians, though Ratchet's helping to teach me more about advanced first aid techniques and the like."
It was really taking every ask Nightshade so many questions relating to the Terrans. She didn't want to overwhelm the young bot especially right when they'd just finished introductions so she forced herself to save those questions for later. "I have the day off today actually. I came out here because I like walking through the woods and studying flowers. It's.. a bit of a research project of mine, but I like to look at them too."

Nightshade smiled as they listened to Clematis. She seemed nice and the fact she had met Hashtag warmed their spark. Their sister was sweet even though she could be a little excitable. All of Nightshade's siblings were that way.
"Yes. I am one of the Terrans."
It was nice for someone to recognize that and be happy about it. They were still hiding due to the fact that they did not know which humans they could trust. Dot and Alex of course as well as Robby and Mo. Nightshade love their family dearly! They were extremely lucky to have such a wonderful family.

Yay! Nightshade was one of the Terrans. Clematis had so many questions for them but she didn't want to bombard them with questions either. She felt it was a little rude, and Nightshade might not even be as comfortable answering them if they even had those answers. The Terrans were such a mysterious group that no one really knew much about them aside from the whole being born on Earth thing hence the name. Did they function the same way as Cybertronians? Fuel and recharge the same way? Did they have abilities that Cybertronians didn't have? Did Cybertronian medicine affect Terrans the same way? So many questions burned in the femme's mind, but she'd let them happen a bit more naturally.
"You know.. we both have flower names now that I think about it." Clematis giggled a bit, pulling out her datapad. She pulled up a couple images of two different purple flowers that looked slightly similar, turning her datapad to show the green Terran. "See? This one over here is a clematis, and the other one is a nightshade. We're even the same height! Kinda silly I know, but thought it was pretty neat."
As much as she liked flowers, she didn't want their conversation to be solely on her interests though. "So what do you like to do for fun, Nightshade? Aside from coming out here and reading?"

Nightshade blinked and then their optics widened. She was right! Nightshade had never thought about their name before but both were plant names. It was an interesting connection!
"Oh wow! That's an interesting connection! Maybe we were meant to meet. I would be honored to have a friend like you, Clematis."
The green owlbot had a warm look as they chatted.
"I love my family. I enjoy spending time with them and watching movies sometimes."
It was a nice way to bond with family and Nightshade loved to help in those regards.
"What about you? What do you like to do for fun?"

The both of them had so much in common that it was almost scary, but Clematis thought it was nice to meet someone who had so much in common with her. That was only added to by Nightshade's admission of caring deeply for their family and spending time with them. While a bit force, Clematis couldn't help but smile though there was a twinge of sadness to it. She wished that she could have that with Nightshroud, but it would have to be on her terms and who knew when that would be. Her crimson twin had shown signs of healing, so maybe one day..
"Family's important to me too. It's just my twin sister and I, though it's been awhile since we've last spoken. Not because we're necessarily mad at each other or don't like one another, but.. there's a lot that's happened over the years. I know she's happy with how things are for her at the moment, and as long as she's happy.. then I'm happy too. Maybe one day we'll talk more, but I know I can't really force her either." The azure and lilac femme didn't want to go into too many details, but knew the subject would get brought up with the talk of family either way. Clematis didn't want to sour the mood any more than necessary, but wanted to relate that she knew what having a family was like.. though at least Nightshade was lucky with their siblings. A nice, happy family~.
It made her slightly envious, but never to the point of jealously. She was happy for Nightshade as well as Hashtag and all their other siblings.
Clematis hummed to herself thoughtfully as Nightshade asked about what she liked to do for fun. "Well, you know I like flowers but I like movies too. The musical ones with a little fantasy are my favorite kind, but of all the Earth movies I've seen here.. I'd have to say Tangled is my favorite." Clematis couldn't help but giggle a bit. The movie was meant for kids, but she really enjoyed that movie. "But when I'm not busy working, sometimes I like to just sit in the park and read on my datapad. Go over old study notes and texts I haven't gone through in awhile. I do like making medicine, and I do really enjoy trying to find new ways to help remedy Cybertronian ailments but at the same time I like to read about herbal remedies humans come up with too to treat each other when they're sick. It's inspiring in a way.. not just using actual medicine but the plant life around them to produce the same effects. I've been trying to see if there's some way I can use organic matter from Earth and mix it with Cybertronian medicine to see if I can come up with something new. Maybe treat something that couldn't be treated before. Everyone thinks it isn't possible, but I wanna try. I just haven't found the means of connecting the two."
Almost like how Tarantulas was trying to blend Earth technologies with Cybertronian, not that Clematis knew of that.
