Optimus sat down in his office. With Skyfire's proposal to make the new Autobot prison on the moon that meant they needed a way to get there that was more efficient than asking the space-bound Autobots for a ride.
Optimus knew just the bot to help with that.
He had called Wheeljack to meet with him in his office and soon enough the bot he'd asked for had arrived.
"Wheeljack."Optimus greeted warmly. "Good to see you again.".

Wheeljack was glad to be back in action again.
He wouldn’t openly admit it, nor did he regret his work in the interim. But it was nice to be tinkering and inventing again. Rather than focusing on a 9-5 that he’d been working since. But still, he knew that at the end of the day he had done good, that was what mattered right?
When Optimus had called him in he assumed it was to check on things. After all his return had been sudden and spur of the moment. But either way, he simply gave a small wave on arriving. “Good to see ya, Prime. What has it been? Probably five years now?” he honestly couldn’t remember the last time he’d had to be in Prime’s presence. “So good to get out into the thick of it again.”

"It has been too long old friend..." Optimus noted sadly.
"Anyway. I have a specific mission for you." Optimus said getting to business
"Do you think you can build a small-scale space bridge?"

Too long probably. But as Wheeljack looked at it, he’d done the right thing.
At least at the time - he wasn’t like Ironhide. He didn’t want his kid exposed to the war at all. Ironic since that son was grown now and a soldier himself, but he digressed. At least he’d given him a somewhat normal childhood. “Yeah, well, Dane said the same thing. He’d been worried about me since he grew up and moved out,” he admitted. “And honestly, I couldn’t take another second of either one of my jobs. No offense, I needed to blow something up or invent something…”
And speaking of inventions. A space bridge? Now they were talking. “Ohhh boy could I ever! What were you thinking? Big and easy, small and compact? Oh I’m gonna have fun with this!” He shouted excitedly.

There he went again. Wheeljack and his aspirations...
"Nothing too fancy Wheeljack," Optimus explained. "I just want something that can transport someone to the moon and back."
"Skyfire is hard at work building a prison on the moon and we need a quick and reliable way to travel there. That's where you come in."

Awwww. But fancy was more fun.
So he’d probably make it fancy anyway, if he were going to be honest. After all, he could make it simply do that… And add a few fun features of his own to it. Yeah, he could do that… And hopefully Prime wouldn’t be too mad for it, or at least accept it by then. “Oh sure, of course Prime! A bridge to the moon should be a piece of cake!” He announced. “Consider it done before next month. Thats easy!”
A prison though? “What kind of prison are we talking though?”
