In the years since the end of the GREAT WAR (roughly two decades ago in the early nineties), humans and Transformers have found a way to peacefully co-exist. As such, Autobots have integrated into human society in a variety of ways, all of which will be listed and detailed here.
CYBERTRONIAN CITIES AND TOWNSHIPS
Have risen up in the wake of integration. While some Autobots opt to live in human cities, they have also created their own joint cities and towns that house human and Autobot alike. But are specifically built so that either can inhabit it while human cities were built with only humans in mind. They are massive, sprawling, and metal in nature usually - and the most common place to find Transformers.
The closest city in range of our RP is the Cybetronian Capitol City - aptly named AUTOBOT CITY. Their equivalent to Washington DC.
G.H.O.S.T
A top secret government organization run by the mysterious Executive Agent Croft that works alongside the Autobots and a reformed Megatron in order to hunt down the remaining Decepticons. Though aligned with the alien visitors, their methods are regarded as shady by some. Many of the remaining Autobots in high ranking positions, including Optimus Prime, currently work with them.
THE REUNIFICATION PROGRAM
Following the war, it was made clear that many humans - especially children - were displaced due to most of the carnage caused by the Autobots. Likewise, many Autobots and reformed Decepticons had lost their young, or were left otherwise unable to reproduce due to war injuries.
As a result, the Reunification Program was founded by Wheeljack and a few others. Named “Reunification” as it was the reuniting of the Cybertronian species with an aspect of their culture they had lost in the war: the younglings (in this case human ones). The program started off pairing many orphans with different sparklingless Autobot’s and couples. But has grown in the decades since to include Autobots of many different backgrounds. Often welcoming in children that are harder to place - or otherwise live troubled lives.
Placements and adoptions are carefully overseen by the members of G.H.O.S.T in order to ensure what is best for all parties involved. Though about 99% of these cases are overseen only by the Cybertronian side of the organization - and are legally recognized as Autobot jurisdiction. Allowing for emergency or “secret” placements when the Autobots deem it absolutely necessary. Though most adoptions go through the typical, human channels - others are done through more Autobot means to ensure the safety of those involved. A practice that has been deemed legal (though somewhat of a loophole).
When awaiting placement into Autobot families - humans are taken care of in Autobot group homes. Where they learn necessities to integrating into their new family units and are cared for and fed. They are often more open and nurturing than many human group homes - due to the different approach the species take.
The program has caused much strife in Anti-Autobot communities, but has brought much of the homeless and displaced youth population down. Leading many to welcome it with open arms.
THE BOND SIGIL
An invention of Wheeljack’s - this “Cyber Band” like object is a human-sized version of the Auto-Brand but not a painful process. The small object is coded to a Transformers’ (or mated pairs’) spark signature(s) and when placed on a human being connects them through a bond spark-to-soul. This has been used and given to children in the Reunification program who so choose it by their parents in order to deepen their bond and mark them as an Autobot in the eyes of all. The patch is a permanent marking which cannot be removed as it immediately attaches itself to the human internally and externally to create the bond. Allowing them to feel emotions and take internal messages from their parents much like any sparkling, and vice-verse.
AUTOBOTS AND THE GOVERNMENT
Given that they are now a recognized Earth sentient species, Autobots are more than welcome to run for elected officials - with the exception of the POTUS. Many high ranking Autobots are known to hold seats of power, though often are put under scrutiny by humans that do not trust the “aliens”.
M.E.C.H
Are an anti-Cybertronian extremist group that has popped up in recent years. Described as a domestic terrorist organization, they hold a shadowy leadership and work to quietly dismantle what they believe to be unworthy alien invaders. Following his appearance, it’s speculated, but not proven, that Mandroid holds a high position in the orginization.
THE WAR ON EARTH - A BRIEF HISTORY
The warring factions of the Autobots and Decepticons arrived on Earth on September 17, 1984. Were their battle over the most precious resource on Cybertron: Energon soon drew humans into the conflict. After many years of fighting, Optimus Prime made a de desperate bid to end the fighting which ended with the destruction of their way home: the space bridge in 1993. The resulting aftermath lead to the dispersing of the Decepticons - whose leader, Megatron, decided to reform and join the Autobots. It is now many decades later, and the Autobots, fully integrated into life on Earth, have lived in peace - for now. While most have become legends, war heroes, and stories in their own right - with most humans holding them in high regard.
