Just as Starscream started to walk away, that reminder that she was going to be alone with Fadeshift again sank in. That unease of knowing if she was doing things right or not. Starscream was almost like that security blanket of comfort to the femme cause Primus knew he was already filled with an overabundance of it to spare. That's why he'd insisted in daily self confidence exercises as she recovered from the damage Rampage had dealt, and still kept insisting upon it.. to rebuild the confidence that had already been damaged by Skyfire only to be rebroken by Rampage. He had plenty for the both of them, and it was his logic that by doing such training drills that eventually Nightshroud would get the hint.
At least Fadeshift was agreeing to the guided tour if nothing else, and just before she could start the tour her adoptive sire suddenly stopped in his tracks to thank the other femme before teasingly threatening her in a way.
What was he even trying to pull?
With a heated faceplate, Nightshroud shook her helm with a smile. Sometimes Starscream was beyond even her understanding, but he was protective if nothing else. The crimson seeker stood there awkwardly for a moment, optics focused on the floor until she figured out how she wanted to start things. "I'd just.. ignore that. He isn't going to hurt you, Fadeshift.. but if you're wondering why he wants me to give you the guided tour instead of him, that's because he actually does not remember what the compound is like. When I met him, he was in an extremely paranoid state. He refused to leave the hanger unless he had no other choice, and when he did he would always erase his memories of what the base's layout was like. He told me one day that he did that so if he were ever captured and I were to hide somewhere in the compound, he literally could not tell anyone where I was. It was to keep not just the base safe, but also me. I.. only in the last week convinced him to stop doing that." She understood the logic, but it was only more damaging to her in the end. What if they had a nice little moment and then suddenly that memory was just.. gone? That's why Nightshroud had to fight so hard to just go flying with him and make sure he didn't delete those memories of the flight.
"Anyway.. behind me is the ladder that goes up to the roof, but there's also a secret hatch on the floor next to the ladder to go underneath this hanger. That's where all our energon is stored, and Starscream has a device down there that'll mask our energy signatures. Nice little hiding spot. And that sort of room that the crates are forming to the left is where Starscream and I recharge. It was just the both of us for the longest time, and we had a system where we kept watch while the other recharged so it made sense to keep our makeshift berths close. Never did change that after others started making their home here, well.. aside from the keeping watch part. It's just.. a nice comfort to not be alone in case of bad dreams."
