Punch exhaled heavily, swirling around a small metal flask, as she watched the evening sun set over the SpaceBridge Memorial Park. She knew she wasn’t the only one who visited to mourn, but she made a point of it to do so by herself - most came for friends, comrades, or family who had been lost in the war, but her eyes always trailed to the burnt impact the Spacebridge itself had made, and yearned for home. One day, she thought to herself, …eventually. She sighed heavily as the sun finished dipping below the horizon, and raised her flask to it: “To broken promises.” With a flick of her head, she emptied the container, and stood up to leave.
There were paths accessible to both humans and Cybertronains, since the park was a public place, but she always cut through the trees and bushes behind the park. Sure, no human who saw her driving around late at night would recognize her, but the instincts for caution were too driven in to ignore. Besides, it was nice to stretch her legs, and whatever did live in the forest certainly didn’t mind her. She slipped a cy-gar out from her sleeve once she knew she was out of visible range, and leaned up against a short tree to light it.

It had been decades since Quinn had been on the surface, as she had been locked away in a stasis pod inside Shockwave’s laboratory beneath the Spacebridge Memorial. With the power supply gone, her stasis pod had deactivated, allowing her freedom. The small femme would find herself alone as the laboratory seemed long abandoned. Quinn had always been under someone else’s authority, previously being the Decepticon scientist who cold-forged her.
Now, here she was without any direction or under any one else’s control. The Decepticon assassin wasn’t quite sure what to do, but she was happy to leave the laboratory. Quinn was able to find an exit, and made her way outside, spotting the massive Memorial shrine in front of her. She approached it curiously, unsure what it was or when it had been erected. As she read over the various Cybertronian writings, she recognized various names and an intense wave of shame hit her. There were Autobot names she recognized, because she was the one who had claimed their lives. Something she wasn’t proud of.

Punch enjoyed the peace and quiet. She fidgeted with a sensor dial on the side of her head, adjusting through frequencies. If there was one thing she liked about this planet… no idle comm streams, no radio stations, true quiet - a kind she was never familiar with back on Cybertron. This time of the evening was one of the quietest, with rarely any stray animals making a noise. With optics closed, she listened to the calm sounds of nothing, until her focus was shaken by some distant, vague, clanking and tapping noises. Logically, she knew this was likely some native wildlife.. but she couldn’t help but tense up, looking back towards where it came from. She stood still, quietly, waiting to see if anything else would happen.

Despite spending her entire existence as an assassin, Quinn never enjoyed the act of snuffing out sparks, regardless of faction. She had been created to kill, but each life she took in turn, took a piece of her. As she stared up at the monument, the statue of Megatron brought a flicker of anger. Her pale lilac optics narrowed, as for the first time she truly allowed herself to express her emotions. Her optics welled up before she delivered the most powerful punch she could muster into the statue. The clang of her metal servo against the stone echoed throughout.

Just as Punch had turned, hearing nothing more, a deep metallic -WHUNK- echoed behind her, scaring the birds out of their nests. She froze in her tracks, and briefly thought about continuing to walk away, but something in her told her to go investigate. Probably the engex. She snuffed her cy-gar, slipped it back into her sleeve, and slowly walked back towards the crater, the blaster on her hip warmed up if need be.
As she neared the edge of the crater and peered inward, she could make out a purple figure right beneath the Megatron statue - a likely source of the noise. She didn’t recognize them - unusual for an active participant in the war, especially one playing both sides - but she could assume from their build that they were a ‘con, and probably some sort of aerial vehicle, noting the lack of wheels or doors. Curiously, she stepped closer to the edge of the crater - ready to slide down, but not taking her eyes off the purple robot.

Various emotions flooded Quinn’s processor, but she grew confused as she saw graffiti at the base of Megatron’s statue. “Traitor” and other jabs and slurs painted across the stone, making her wonder what had happened since she was placed into stasis.
Despite her back being turned, her training as an assassin gave her heightened senses and she knew someone was watching her. The young femme wasn’t exactly sure how to proceed, as she had no idea the length of time that had passed nor the situation with the war. The slender femme chose to calmly walk away from the monument and head down a path into the nearby forest, allowing her cover at the very least.

Punch watched the purple robot gather herself and walk away, towards the forest. She knew this area well, and ducked back into the trees as soon as she lost visual on the mysterious figure; they were headed for a clearing, and she was pretty sure she could loop around and confront them from the other side. She hadn’t come looking for a fight, but her experience on Cybertron had taught her to never leave a mysterious figure unchecked. Especially when, without any signs of said figure arriving, they may have secrets… or be a secret.
She kept her blaster hot on her hip, and optics peeled for anything suspicious. Decepticons were often vandals of the Megatron statues - as Counterpunch, she had done it herself - but you can never be too sure who shares your ideals these days, especially in Autobot mode. At least Counterpunch gets along poorly with everyone, she thought, approaching the clearing.

Quinn gambled that her observer would attempt to get the drop on her, as this tactic had usually worked for her in the past when luring targets into vulnerable positions. Despite disliking harming others, the petite Decepticon still valued her own life and survival. She had no idea who this bot was nor their intentions. Quinn quietly moved through the forest, careful not to break branches or leave tracks, as her light build allowed for stealthy movements.
She noted a clearing in the distance, sensing this would be where her observer may try to catch her off guard. By instinct, her arm blades twitched, ready for a fight if it came down to it. She hung on the border of the clearing, not wanting to reveal herself so soon

Punch, too, had no shortage of experience, and assumed the clearing would be where the two met. Unlike the smaller flier, however, she wasn’t as light, and had to be careful moving through the brush to get there. Minimal noise - it wasn’t silence, but it was close, maybe mistakable for an animal. She hoped to get the drop by arriving first, slowly creeping behind trees for cover. Optics and lights were all that would peek through the evening shroud, so she kept her visor down, and a hand hovering by the blaster on her hip.
The deafening silence was only pierced as a small fluffy rodent scurried across the clearing, squeezing and chattering.

‘This isn’t going to be easy..’ Quinn thought as she neither heard nor saw anything in her surroundings. Since her observer wouldn’t reveal themselves, the small femme started to quietly make her way through the forest, moving closer to the other side. She hoped to at least catch a glimpse of who she was dealing with, maybe then she could decide her next course of action. Unfortunately, the only difference she would have in finding either an Autobot or a Decepticon would be that one wouldn’t shoot at her. Very few of her ‘fellow’ Decepticons had been friendly towards her after all.
As she pressed on through the woods, she grew slightly nervous as she was unfamiliar with this area.

She also circled the clearing, keeping her eyes on the opening. Particularly observant bots may have been able to see a flash of her blue plating ducking between the trees, but she stayed focused on the opposite edge. Many of the Decepticons she had worked with during the war took great pride in stalking their prey, and she had to be careful to avoid getting toyed with. Whoever else was here was hard to spot… she’d have to make a move sooner than later.

Quinn slowly began to increase her pace, noticing an ever so slight glint of blue from the treelike ahead. She estimated that she was most likely dealing with an Autobot based on the coloring. She wanted to close the distance quickly, as she had no desire to lose a fight. Worse yet would be if she were to be captured, as she was certain she wouldn’t get any leniency due to her past.

Seeing nothing, and hearing less, Punch decided to change pace. She was familiar with the forest, sure, but it wasn’t her element.. and she had no way to know how well adapted her adversary may be. Her blaster dropped back to her hip as she slowly emerged from the bush, hands behind her head in surrender. Faux surrender, but whoever else was here didn’t need to know that.. yet. Hopefully, her raised arms and hidden weapons would at least compel the other mech to say hello.
“A-alright.. You got me..” she said, trying to sound meek. “Just come on out..”

The sudden sound of another voice surprised Quinn. She looked into the clearing to see what appeared to be an Autobot femme surrendering. Quinn probably should’ve remained hidden, but she was curious. Besides, maybe this Autobot could provide her with information on the war and the whereabouts of the Decepticons. She extends her arm blades and cautiously steps into the clearing, keeping her optics focused on the blaster on the Autobot’s hip. “Who are you and why are you following me?”
