Bombardier was too busy to be focused on any stragglers with his own little project, the jet speeding by as they flew through the open air. He had been busy with improving the drones he had at his company, diminutive as they may have been. He could terminate someone for some proper company, even if it was from a vehicon. For now, he was content to fly to his test site on his own. Taking the oppurtunity to test his devices out here would be a good way to see if they were ready for further use. He had managed to find a particularly rich vein of ore and energy deep below, where the humans had excavated before. Place however was abandoned after some accident had occurred. A right and proper shame, though perhaps fortune smiled on him for the humans superstition.
Flying down to land, the decepticon briefly pointing their nose up before transforming. The mech would unveil its robot mode, landing against the sunbleached rocks below with a large BOOM, rock displacing from his landing as his metal pedes met the earth. He was definitely a lot bigger than the other bot they'd seen. Bombardier would take a quick look around, seeing if the coast was clear. His optics squinted around, the giant emitting a bit of steam from his mask for a moment.
As if satisfied, the bomber would speak in some sort of foreign tongue, akin to machinery rather than any language, raising a servo up as a quartet of spherical drone would leap out from his body, floating around him and awaiting command. At the same time, the metal transforming bot spoke, with a voice that could shake a body to the core. "Mhm, could be faster...alright, standard operation procedure: form a perimeter. Anything of use, bring to me. Anything else…send the alert." Bombardier ordered, the drone whirring and communicating in a buzzing format before manuevering. A couple of them would actually move to the ground, sprouting up 4 spider like legs before crawling along the ground, each one gifted a singular optic to scan the surrounding area. Chirping, humming, and buzzing sounded off, the drones communicating in their own tongue as they dug and scoured the area for a moment. All the while, Bombardier eyed a particular entrance to the mine, one big enough for his drones to work.

Anything haunted always had Dylan’s name all over it.
Given it was summer - there was mischief to be had! Especially when you were ten years old. So he’d decided to check out this so called “haunted quarry” that he’d heard some of the kids in Autobot City mumbling about. If there were ghosts, you damn well had better believe this kid was going to find it, as the ultimate skeptic.
So far, that search had come up with… Nothing.
Just a big old quarry with lots of rocks and a whole lot of boring! What a waste of what precious days of summer Dylan had left. He was going to have to give a mouthful to the Youngling who had blabbed about it… Or at least he thought so until he heard lots of weird noises. His ears perked up and he carefully followed the noises to find…
Drones. And a bit Cybertronian of some kind. Dylan pouted. “Man, why can’t it be something I don’t see every day?” His voice was full of disappointment. But low in case it was a foe.

While he may have been a Cybertronian, something had become more common here on Earth…he was far from the average bot or con. Standing at a towering height, he was big enough to at the very least easily grab a hold of autobots like Bumblebee in a servo or two. His wings were folded in, though still casting a shadow despite their cast in nature. The bomber towered over, his servo big enough to cup the drones he kept. Drones that were as big as an overgrown sheep. A single optic came from them, spindly legs gracing some of them as they crawled and floated about, hard at work.
However, one of them seemed to perk up at the sound of Dylans voice, turning about and tilting its...head? Body? Whatever it was that tilted, the drone would slowly manuever over, examining the nearby area where Dylan had spoken up. Its optic turned from a dull purple to brightened azure, as if on alert. Chirps could be heard from it, the humming thing crawling about the rock and trying to see if something had been here.
Bombardier meanwhile had been busy with scanning the environment and sending in a drone to investigate the mine. He detected a sizable amount of raw material he could compress and use along. Perhaps he'd be lucky enough to find energon here as well, though he doubted it. Looking at his holopad, he took notice of one of the drones chirping: P-1734 to be exact. Something seemed to be tripping them up at the very least. "Hmm? What is it?" The giant spoke up, standing up to their full height now as they gave the drone a once over, walking over to them with heavy footfalls to see what they were up to. Dylan might find himself in a heap of trouble if he doesn't find someway to drive the drone away or move.

Shit.
When he spotted the Decepticon symbol Dylan quietly chastised himself. While he wasn’t exactly afraid of the Cons (quite the contrary, as someone enslaved as a small kid a small part of him did understand them). But that wasn’t to say he’d ever come face to face with a friendly one that didn’t want to shoot him where he stood!
Taking a deep breath, however the boy clicked his tongue. There had to be somewhere to hide in this place.
Of course, in a quarry he imagined limited options. But had a guess about what they were looking for. Raw material? Maybe Energon? There were always mineral deposits of it if you knew where to look and lucky him, Dylan had seen some on his way through. It took him a moment to relocate it, but as he passed it and hoped the drone followed him, he dove behind a particularly large boulder.
“Of all the places for my signal to be crap….” He huffed.

The drone was persistent that was for sure, the sheep sized mechanoid whirring and humming as it searched about. Sensing some movement, the drone skittered about, following the sound and letting out the occasional pinging noise, as if trying to track what had made the sound. These weren't any drones Mandroid made, that was for sure. The drone skittered about the rock, dangerously close to Dylan as it crawled along near the boulder. Another drone was no actively searching along side Bombardier, scanning the rock and making similar sounds.
As Bombardier approached closer, he decided to take a small chance, speaking up towards where the noise had come from. No doubt about it, someone was here. "I would suggest you come out of hiding interloper...slowly too." He called out, approaching the boulder as the drone crawled along the surface. Theother drone was floating nearby, floating next to their creator as if to stand guard and keep watch.
His left hand would grab hold of something along his waist, transforming the object into what appeared to be a massive Halberd, glowing a slight orange along the blades and spear point. The bot was armed so it would seem. Looking to the boulder, Bombardier gave the motion to the drone, the first one to notice crawling down from the boulder and moving within sight of Dylan, about to turn and alert its companions.

Dylan gritted his teeth.
These little guys were persistent as heck, was the first thing he thought. He was hardly looking for a fight at his age, but the other side told him he may have to fight a bit. Which was a fun thought but how practical was it? The drones weren’t particularly big and Dylan had learned self defense from a few of the Bots he’d been fostered by over the years….
But missing it might mean… Well, let’s be real, death.
So he decided to take the biggest stone he could find and hold. Run right up to the drone, and SWUNG hard for its head. Toppling himself over in the process. He’d been ready to run when the sight of a robot with a giant halbeard now made him gulp. Ok. Maybe running for it wasn’t happening.
He held up his hands and did take offense to only one thing. Rather than begging for his life - that was for saps. “Interloper? Really? You weren’t even here when I came in. If anything, you’re the interloper.” He explained. “Not even really sure what a Con wants with a haunted rock quarry. But be my guest.”

Dylan would be able to catch one of the drones by surprise, this one having a red star on its flank. As the rock made contact with it, Dylan could feel the blow reverberate through his hands, the rock splitting in two from the blow as the drone let out a loud and confused whir. It stumbled, attempting to maintain its balance as the stone had left a dent into it. However, despite the blow, the drone seemed to be relatively fine, if a little wobbly. The other drones weren’t as affected though, staring down Dylan with their singular optics and letting out a keening howl.
Not to mention, Dylan had definitely caught Bombardiers attention by now, the decepticon raising their halberd and pointing it toward the human as the drones inched closer, the two on the ground now emitting chirps and whirs to each other, beginning to circle the boy. They weren’t attacking yet but one of them was sticking close to the struck drone, who was chirping piteously on the sidelines. Bombardier sprung to action though, taking the hook and axe portion of their halberd and putting it dangerously close to them, silent for a moment before speaking up. “Food, energy, whatever is needed to survive…would you be any different if you were forced to scrounge on some foreign planet?” Bombardier remarked coldly, the polearm staying close and keeping the boy from attempting anything without risk of being struck. Dylan could feel the heat emanating from it, sizzling and searing against the pointy and sharp portions of the blade.
“Now…I would suggest explaining yourself swiftly: name and affiliation. Are there any others with you?” Bombardier questioned, a few of the drones circling closer. These ones seemed far more like the kind of drones that wouldn’t hesitate to assault the boy if given the order…but the Decepticon didn’t give such an order.

[TW: Severe Abuse Implication; PTSD]
Dylan was shitting bricks now.
First came the screeching, then the howling… What had he done!? On one hand he was proud of himself that he’d managed to do that kind of damage to a Decepticon. But the empathetic part of him felt awful about it. He’d been about to check when the giant one cornered him. Well, shit… He threw his hands up higher; and swallowed.
Ok, Dylan keep that smart ass mouth of yours shut this time. He could feel sweat pour down his face as he tried to calm down. A flood of flashbacks overtaking him, he had to bite back the PTSD episode that was trying to force itself to the surface. Shit… Not the time.
Then he spoke on his reasons for doing what he did - and something else entered his mind again. Empathy. Dammit. Taking a deep breath, he tried to calm himself down and think rationally… “I… I’m sorry I just didn’t… I didn’t know. I just saw your drone and panicked,” Dylan managed. It was the honest truth of the matter “I’m only ten I’m not a warrior looking for a fight or anything…”
Name and affiliation? Ok, that was gonna lose him points he assumed. “… Dylan… Dylan Logan. I’m in Autobot care but I’m not really… I mean I don’t have an Autobrand yet,” he hadn’t been adopted yet after all - panic settled in. “Look I’m really not looking to hurt anyone. Especially if you’re just trying to eat… I’ve been there too. I spent a lot of time locked up in an attic… I ate some real nasty shit to survive.”
When he’d found his voice again. “Can we just… Start over? I know where Energon is around here. If you promise not to hurt me I can show you.” He managed. “I’m alone too. Honest. Snuck out of the city for an adventure.”
