Nick smirked.
He was sure that Bumblebee was right, but at the same time he was just as happy with Bumblebee. Any chance he had to spend more time with his dad was automatically a good thing, at least in his opinion. He did give a little playful pout about that though. “Oh come on dad! Give me more credit than that,” He said cheekily. “I bet I last hours!”
Of course, Nick probably was a little ahead of himself, but that was just him.
Nick put the punching bag down as Bee offered. To be frank, he was sure that Bee was aware he wasn’t in perfect shape, right? “Yeah, I guess I gotta walk before I can run,” He joked. “I always wanted to get more in shape but I didn’t really have an excuse until now.”

Oh so bold of Nick. Bee gave him less than an hour, yet Nick felt he could last just a bit more than an hour. Multiple hours even. Laughing a bit, Bee held up a single digit. "Alright then, an hour.. and a couple minutes tops." He really didn't think that the kid would seriously last a lengthy training session with him given how Bee was good at fighting and scouting. It'd be rigorous to say the least, but if Nick really felt he could do it then who was he to stop him?
Speaking of stopping him the scout was surprised that Nick actually put the punching bag down so Bee could set the thing up. Carefully he set up the equipment, hanging it from a pretty sturdy branch on the tree. Given that the Maltos would no doubt try to use it as well, it was best to pick a branch that wasn't likely to break within the first couple of punches. "Hey there's nothing wrong with that. Gotta start small and work your way up and you'll get there some day. We can't all be Grimlock. Work with what you've got and you'll find over time you can do more things than you could before; go a little bit further and be a little stronger. Just set a goal for yourself that's within reason and stick with it. None of this deciding to do a ten mile run out of nowhere business."

Nick smirked, he geussed that he'd trust the big mech on this one.
Somtimes, he was obviously in a hurry to catch up to his dad, being such a legend and all. But he also knew that Bumblebee was right. He was too hard on himself, and he was sure some of that was due to his abandonment issues. Which ultimately left him with the desire to prove himself to be a strong and capable person. And sometimes he had to remind himself... He was still just a kid. "I know, I know. I'm my own worst critic," Nick admitted. "I sometimes forget that I don't need to be - well... "Perfect" all the time."
He patted Bee on the foot gently, and then added. "I think being around you has helped my confidence a bit is all," He admitted. "You make me feel like I can do anything most days."
