Starscream blushed at the kiss, doing everything he could to stop his cooling fans from kicking alive. He had not expected Soundwave to be so casual with affection, first he had initiated the hug when they had reunited and now this? He would get used to this very, very easily. The order to recharge made Stascream scoff, getting up and heading toward his berth, before answering with nonchalance.
“I’ll be fine, there’s no Call of the Sky anymore. I’m sending you the proximity protocol access via commlink. Wake me up if something goes wrong.”
<<Private Comlink Request Incoming: Starscream>> [Soundwave] <<Request sent: Tracking Alarm Alert.exe>> [Soundwave] <<Wake me up if something happens, my beloved.>>
Stopping in front of Nightshroud, the Seeker noticed the frown on the femme’s face. He suppressed a sigh, climbing on the berth silently. Starscream settled behind Nightshroud before snaking one arm around her and hugging her close. With a sigh, the Seeker closed his optics, exhaustion overtaking his frame. His processor, however, was still running at full speed.
“Little Dove… I know you’re unhappy with Soundwave being here. I promised you that I wouldn’t replace you and I will not. However… I do plan on properly courting Soundwave and make him my Conjux. I do feel guilty for what happened to him... I am not to blame but I could have helped....” Starscream’s spark broke thinking about Rumble, sighing sadly. “Another spark extinguished because of Prime’s and Megatron’s narrowed views. I won’t allow it. I will keep Soundwave and his symbiotes fuelled and safe. Exactly like I did for you when you first stumbled here.”
His servo started to pet his sparkling’s helm, as he peered over the map Skyfire had shown him while he was in the cage, making calculations, preparations and a mental list of items he’d need to build a machine for energon refining.

Nightshroud's optics followed Starscream as he slipped into his berth behind her, letting out a soft hum as he pulled her close. She couldn't help but smile again as her optics started to close, but then he started to speak again. At least he acknowledged the fact that she wasn't happy with Soundwave's arrival, but the thought of this being a permanent arrangement.. it didn't sit well with her. It wasn't anger, but something else. Worry? Regret? Nightshroud couldn't quite place it, but she knew where Starscream was going with this. He wanted her to give Soundwave a chance, especially when he was so determined to make him his Conjunx one day. If Starscream trusted Soundwave this much, maybe she was being a little unfair to him.
"I trust you.. and if you say you love him, then.. I want to give him a chance too. I just don't know how. It just came naturally with you and maybe it'll be the same for him, but I've heard just how wild the Cassetticons can be. I just don't know where to start, but I promise I'll try.. for you. For you and for me."
It felt like an impossible task, but she'd already done it once before. She swore she'd never trust anyone again, and somehow the seeker holding her close had managed to get through to her. Nightshroud felt much calmer when he was around, and to lose him even for a little while nearly sent her over the edge. The femme teared up a bit at the thought, just happy that her adopted sire was home.. safe and sound. Though as she thought about it, she knew there was something she needed to do before she allowed recharge to take her; before recharge could even take Starscream. Very carefully Nightshroud twisted around so that she was facing him, wrapping an arm around him as well before leaning her helm against his chest plating. Hearing the gentle rumbles of his engines helped to lull her, but more than that was the soothing sound of the seeker's spark. Smiling brightly as her optics closed, she spoke softly.
"Starscream.. Sire.. I love you so much. I'm so happy you chose me to be your sparkling, but I just want you to know I'm so happy you're safe and sound. That you're alive.. There's more I want to say, but not right now. It can wait until later. Right now.. I just want to stay with you and actually recharge for once.. knowing that I'm safe. That you're safe.."

Starscream wasn't ready yet to express his emotions towards the Spy, at least out loud. Not before they had more time to adjust to the whole situation. He let out a pleased hum when Nightshroud confirmed she would make an effort to get along with the other additions to the Flock. He took note to make sure he would extend the same courtesy to Mire.
Nightshroud wasn't done and what she said next made his spark swell with protectiveness. Emotions washed over the tri-colour Seeker as his sparkling called him Sire and professed her love.
"I'm safe. You're safe. Everything will be fine, I promise. As for the Cassetticons… there's one less for you to worry about. However… Frenzy misses Rumble dearly and might try to overcompensate with you. Be patient with her, please. Ravage and Lazerbeak are going to be as distrustful as you so that's one thing you all have in common." He chuckled softly, planting a kiss on her helm to show he was only teasing her. "Everything will be fine, I would never do something that would expose you to any unnecessary risk."
Starscream didn’t say but he truly believed in his spark that Frenzy and Nightshroud would gain from having each other to lean on. Both had lost a sibling in a traumatizing way and could use a younger presence to let loose and have fun. The Seeker wondered when was the last time Nightshroud had played or laughed freely, with no care of danger looming over her spark. It made him too sad so he pushed the thought aside.
He kept on petting her helm, wanting to stay awake in case she had nightmares and needed reassurance. Starscream had already recharged a bit and the boost of his tank being full of energon for the first time since the War had ended, left a pleasant buzzing in his systems. He used the time to turn off the proximity alarm, review the commlinks he missed while he was in the Cage, review in triplicated the energon deposit he suspected would yield more than enough for them all, once they’d recon the place. It was far from any humans, the Autobots and G.H.O.S.T..
Starscream’s goal were as follows: Priority; keep everyone fuelled. Main Order; Stay away from G.H.O.S.T., the Autobots, Mandroid and humans. Mission: Build a spaceship and get off this mud-ball.
Cybertron was always the end goal but Starscream needed to get off Earth. As soon as possible. Anywhere but this blasted mud-ball and all its living creatures. Then an idea started to brew in his processor. They might not have the technology needed for building a spaceflight capable vessel but they could leave for another planet within this solar system.
The Seeker pulled all the information on the other planets orbiting around the sun, evaluating the pros and cons of each. The more he peered at the details, the more his plan started to solidify itself. Once they were out of reach, what could the Autobots blame them for? They’d be away from the organics and flesh creatures, mining their own energon, doing their own thing.
He wouldn’t impose an planet on the group, relying on his background as a scientist to draw a list with each of the planet details, how comparable the environment was to Cybertron. He even threw in a few moons that had potential.
First; Establish a Neutral Cybertronian Refuge, away from Earth Second; Develop better technology/rebuild a space bridge to Cybertron Third; Rebuild Cybertron
Proud of himself, he filed the project away to fine tune and polish before he’d present it to the Flock, for their opinion on the subject. Megatron might have lost his way but he would build a Cybetron that’s just and free of slaves. That’s what his Spark wanted more than anything. He’d trade his Sigma ability to revive Cybertron. Restore Vos. No. Build a better Vos. One that would accept him and his.
Damn the old ways.

Even though she didn't show it, there was a part of Nightshroud that was a little sad that the feeling wasn't reciprocated vocally. She didn't expect Starscream to come back with the 'love you too', but she was happy enough to settle with another kiss on the helm. The femme was much too relaxed, comfortable while resting right there against Starscream knowing he was safe. A soft giggle came out from the femme as he playfully teased her a bit, knowing full well that he wasn't serious when he said that she had distrustfulness in common with Ravage and Laserbeak. Still, she had to wonder just what happened with Rumble that Starscream felt Frenzy might attempt to bully her into a sort of kinship.
"It's alright. I know I'm safe as long as I'm with you. I won't be upset if you need to wake me up for anything, but.. try and rest too, okay?"
Within moments Nightshroud was out like a light while pressed up against Starscream's chest plating, arm wrapped incredibly loose around his waist. The poor femme had completely exhausted herself with everything that had happened and she desperately needed a decent recharge. Thankfully she had managed to slip into a peaceful recharge, filled with happy dreams about herself and Starscream. It'd been the first sleep in Primus knew how long where she hadn't awoken to repeated nightmares, and Starscream would've known as much as he checked his backlog of commlink notifications. There had been many missed messages from the femme, practically one a day since he'd been gone. Some where just Nightshroud checking in to tell him she missed him and to just go on about her day and what she'd accomplished, but others weren't so cheerful. There were many commlinks sent late in the evening with her crying, unsure if she could go on without the other seeker's guidance and reassurance. It was clear that those particular messages had most likely been sent after awakening with a fright in a failed attempt to calm herself back down, and it was just as likely the crimson seeker didn't remember sending those at all. Messages a little closer to the rescue had been filled with a little more hope that she'd get to see the mech soon.
And now he was back home.
Nightshroud managed to sleep for four hours before sleepily blinking awake, tired optics unfocused as she tried to recall where she even was.

My beloved..
Soundwave wasn't sure what to think about that name. It wasn't that he disliked it, but there was a strangeness to seeing it all the same. It was like a confirmation that they could actually pursue this unique relationship of theirs with no literal boundaries between them. He'd already demonstrated it through touch and affection himself, and Starscream had reciprocated in some form or another. He didn't know if this would actually work out between them, but the more he listened in on Starscream and Nightshroud's conversation with one another the more he realized that the seeker truly had it bad for the former communications officer. Starscream.. wanted Soundwave to become his Conjunx? Such a huge step for the two, but it didn't come as a complete and total surprise that this was a wish of his. They had talked of Conjunx rites previously back at the GHOST HQ, and much of their conversations could technically constitute as the four primary rites on their own. There was still some work to do, but for now he needed to wait.
He let the Cassetticons eject as the four of them fueled up on energon before Frenzy eventually dozed off. Ravage curled up on the mech's lap while Laserbeak perched on his helm. All fell silent as he waited for Mire to arrive, wondering where things would go from here. They had a sort of family going on here now between the Cassetticons and Nightshroud, and there was going to have to be an adjustment for everyone. Soundwave had hoped that he could talk Mire into joining them as well, but that would be up to the femme herself. He still didn't know how he felt about the younger seeker, but hearing her confession to Starscream that she would try was good enough for him.
For now.
Hours passed and everything went quietly. Soundwave wondered if Starscream was recharging with his sparkling still, so he decided to directly comm the seeker to see how things stood. He didn't know if Starscream would even respond, but it would be there for when he was ready.
<<Starscream: Currently recharging? No updates but wished to inquire the status of my silly little rabbit and Nightshroud>>

The Seeker kept both optics on the femme as he reviewed the comlinks his sparkling had sent. He hadn’t been sure how long he had been in the Cage, but now he knew. In too many painful details. How much she missed him, what she went through. It broke his spark, unsure if he really was worthy of such adoration and love from the femme…
[‘Ping’][You want to be some grand dictator, fine, be my guest. But you will never be the leader half these generals were, even Soundwave would make a better leader than you would.]
[‘Ping’][You're pathetic, as you always have been.]
[‘Ping’][I'm telling you because we were wingmen-]
[‘Ping’][I AM THROUGH TALKING TO YOU. EVERYTHING FALLS ON DEAF AUDIALS. THERE IS NO POINT IN SPEECHES; ONLY ACTIONS COUNT.]
The Seeker repressed a shiver tightening his grip around Nightshroud. He was pleased to assess that she was recharging properly, no nightmares or tears. Since he had recharged while sitting up against the crates earlier he didn’t feel the need right now.
Especially since he was lying down… he couldn’t. It was too quiet too, realizing that the music he played earlier had helped lull him into recharge. The gentle hum of the femme’s engines were nice, then again, Starscream had grown used to having Ravage purr in his lap. Grown used to have Soundwave so close by…
[‘Ping’]
The Seeker immediately opened his comlink, reading avidly the short message. Resting his helm against Nightshroud, he allowed himself a small smile.
Yet.
As much as he wanted to bask in the moment, his stupid processor was bringing forth a multitude of scenarios where things could go wrong. Would go wrong. Sighing, he opted to reply to his comlink instead of continuing his spiralling down into dark thoughts.
[Soundwave] <<Nightshroud is finally properly recharging. As for me, I’m trying not to panic over the fact that we got out and everything it implies.>>
The idea of Magatron hunting him down to put him back in the cage was quite frightening. The physical abuse he could endure, had done so for eons. The Cage was not something he wished to experience again. Starscream repressed another shiver.

To hear that Nightshroud had finally managed to rest was good enough to Soundwave. She desperately seemed to be in need of rest, and perhaps that rest would help her mood as well. The blue mech continued to read through Starscream's message, frowning at his words. He was still afraid of what was to come after their escape, attempting to not panic about the consequences of their actions. It mattered not to Soundwave as what had happened had already been done, and there was no turning back from it now.
<<What matters is that we escaped. We must recuperate and rest before we plan our next move. Follow your sparkling's example and rest if you need. We are safe.>>
There was more he had wanted to say, but he hesitated. Starscream had wanted him on guard duty while he and the young femme rested, and Soundwave wasn't about to turn away from that task. Granted, he supposed he could always have Ravage and Laserbeak on look out and inform him if there is an intrusion. He still had the proximity alarm, so he could always contact the Cassetticons to keep an optic out for whatever was heading their way. Perhaps that was the plan for the moment. Allow the Cassetticons to preform recon so he could check on Starscream and make sure he and Nightshroud were alright.
<<I will head to the berthroom. The Cassetticons will keep a watch as I monitor for a proximity alarm. You are in need of comfort, and I cannot turn a blind optic to your needs, my silly little rabbit.>>

Nightshroud's optics while half opened continued to flutter open and closed, remaining unfocused in her daze as she pulled out of recharge. She'd had such a lovely dream, and it had been so long since she'd been back at the base that she honestly had no clue where she was in that moment. Nightshroud barely even noticed the armor she was staring directly into, hearing the wonderful sound of engines rumbling and the sound of a spark as she started to come to. Groaning softly, she blinked a few more times before she felt something press back against her.
For a brief moment it startled her, but as she became more alert that's when she finally realized just what she was looking at.
Starscream!
A faint gasp erupted from the femme as she pulled her face out of the seeker's chest plating, glancing upward to see Starscream's helm resting against her. With a large smile on her face and a hint of sadness in her optics, she hugged him just a little bit tighter. She'd gone into recharge scared that she'd wake to find it was all a dream, but he was still here! Starscream was still right there resting with her, safe and sound.. not behind bars. He was home, and Nightshroud had saved him even if she'd needed a little extra help. The crimson seeker could hardly believe her optics as she gazed at him in her stupor, just so fragging happy beyond belief.
"Sire~. You're here.. You're still here."
But was Soundwave?

The first com made Starscream smile fondly, Soundwave’s concern for his well being was adorable. Made his spark feel like hot liquid goo. It was a very foreign feeling, yet not unpleasant.
Try to recharge.
He had tried to recharge, had been laying on the berth perfectly still and yet he couldn’t stop his processor from overworking. He had turned the proximity warning back on at one point, feeling too paranoid while it was off. He would never admit it out loud… He’d rather eat his own spark than to admit that he missed having Ravage’s purring and Soundwave’s music easing his processor into recharge. He felt like letting his guard down around his sparkling would be a sign of weakness, that she would be disappointed that he wasn’t his usual self.
The second com only made things worse inside the Seeker’s helm.
Having Soundwave nearby would be nice… If it wasn’t for his Seekerling waking up. She had turned her bright and hopeful gaze on him and the scrutiny made him feel both like he was back home… and about to bomb said home to the ground. That metaphor was too appropriate, it almost made him stand up and run. He shoved the instinct down, patting Nightshroud’s helm with a small smile. He sent a quick com to Soundwave, trying to downplay his panic.
[Soundwave] <<I did recharge before everyone got here, I don’t need to recharge more. Nightshroud just woke up, she’ll probably want to talk about our time apart. Was there enough fuel for you and the Cassetticons?>>
Worrying was easy, second nature even. He had so much to worry about. Including the femme gazing at him like he was sent by Primus himself.
“I’m still here. You’re safe Seekerling. You seemed to have recharged well. No nightmares?”
He knew he would be plagued with nightmares if he slipped into recharge. It was easier to focus on Nightshroud and the way she smiled, how her wings perked up.

Just as Soundwave was preparing to shift the resting Cassetticons to get up and head to the berthroom, that was when he received another commlink notification from Starscream. Wasting no time at all, Soundwave checked the message, noting Starscream's insistence that he required no further recharge but that Nightshroud had woken from her hours of recharge. He took that to mean that things had gone smoothly, however it seemed that the seeker felt Nightshroud would want to discuss what had happened during their time apart.
There was a moment where he was torn between heading to the berthroom or not. On one servo he really did want to spend some quality time with Starscream, but on the other.. he knew that the vengeful femme had been separated from her adopted sire for quite some time. It was unfair to take that time from her when she really might have really needed Starscream's presence.
<<There was a sufficient amount of energon for the Cassetticons and I. Do you wish for me to return to the berthroom? I do not wish to take time away from you and your sparkling if she needs your presence at this moment, however I am willing to join you should you desire my company.>> At least the question was out there now. Until he heard back, he'd keep listening in on their conversation to see how things had gone. It sounded like Nightshroud didn't have any nightmares and had slept peacefully, but he wondered what it was she might discuss.. or if Starscream would tell her the truth of that night in Uraya as he had told the spymaster back in jail.

If Nightshroud had known that Starscream was hiding his panic from her, she would have attempted to coax it out of him. She would have preferred his honesty, and if he had truly been rattled by the events that transpired then she would have wanted to know so she could help.. or try to anyway. The femme wanted to be strong for him too, but if nothing else she was just happy he was home.
"No nightmares~." Nightshroud nodded, her smile remaining. "What about you? Did you get some recharge while I was resting?"
The crimson seeker stayed close to her adopted sire, not quite ready to move away just yet but would do so if he wanted the space. It was incredibly comforting and after so much time apart she wanted to milk the comfort for as long as she could. The both of them needed it whether Starscream was going to admit to that or not, but it eased the femme's mind as she felt herself being reeled back from the edge of insanity. She now felt calm and relaxed, though the grooming of her wings had most certainly helped in that regard as well. She still to this day couldn't understand how the other seeker brought such calmness to her processor, but she wasn't about to question it either. When he was around, she could think calmly and rationally but most importantly.. she was happy.
But there was more she wanted to discuss, and with that reminder her smile vanished. "There was something else I wanted to talk to you about. A couple weeks ago.. I met Skyfire. Apparently he'd met with Clematis and he'd wanted to try and get me to 'see reason' and leave the Decepticons. He'd threatened to have you moved to another location once he realized what I was preparing to do, but he did more than that." Sighing, Nightshroud attempted to clear her thoughts. "It became much worse than that, but before I continue.. is it alright if I hold your servo?" Granted they were already cuddling, but Nightshroud didn't want to assume that it was alright to just suddenly take Starscream's servo into her own either.

Starscream felt torn as he looked at Soundwave’s comlink message, while Nightshroud was gazing at him adoringly. He felt guilty he had worried Soundwave about his panic, guilty he wasn’t entirely focusing on his Seekerling. Exhausted from trying to keep it together but feeling so guilty and in a panic state. Trying to keep his processor from spiraling, he focused back on the moment.
[Soundwave] <<I always desire your company, my beloved. I desire your company and so much more, alas, my Seekerling needs reassurance.>>
Now that was done, he shook his helm, trying to clear away the static in his processor. He’d recharge later.
“I had already recharged before everyone arrived, I’m fine.”
As Skyfire’s designation was mentioned, the tri-colour Seeker’s spark sank.
[‘Ping’][I'm telling you because we were wingmen-]
He already knew where this conversation was heading and he was not looking forward to it. He wasn’t worried about how she would handle the whole bomb dropping thing, no. He was worried about having to think back about that time. In his already panicked state, a trip down memory lane to the worst time of his life was not something that would help.
Still, he acquiesced, moving his servo away from her helm, allowing the smaller Seeker to hold it.

The moment Starscream allowed Nightshroud to hold his servo, she wasted no time at all gripping onto his servo with her much smaller one. Nightshroud held it firmly, wanting to reassure the mech before saying what it was that she was about to recount. Things Skyfire had said would not sit well with him most likely, but the femme knew most of all that he would need that reassurance once she reached the part about that night in Uraya. She had no idea how Starscream would react, but she wanted to counter any guilt if she could.
Closing her optics for a second as she let out a soft sigh, she began. “Skyfire.. said many horrible things about you. I think his goal was to turn me against you, but I want you to know right now that his attempts failed considering I still came to save you.” Nightshroud’s smile returned a bit, wanting Starscream to understand she was serious about still caring about him. “He’d said things like how violent you were, how you refuse to accept that the war is over, how you shot him for no reason at all and sent him into stasis lock under the ice for a second time. He even said that you were in need of medical help and that a medic needed to root through the problems in your processor. I told him what you had told me: that you no longer wanted to fight and just wanted to go back to Cybertron, and he immediately dismissed what I had to say. Instead he repeatedly kept saying that if I really could get through to you that I needed to convince you to stop the fighting.. To convince him and Thundercracker that you were going to stop fighting.”
Still holding Starscream’s servo in her own, she idly rubbed her thumb along his servo. “Skyfire also insisted that by siding with the Decepticons that I was supporting all the horrible things that they had done in the past, but he conveniently left out the horrific things the Autobots had done and are still doing to this very day. I don’t care about the Decepticons as a whole anymore, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to align with the Autobots either. He insisted that I needed to talk with Clematis, and when it came to how I felt about things he insisted that I seek out therapy.” Nightshroud scoffed with a hint of a laugh. “You’re the one that helped me. With you I finally feel like I did before the war; even better actually. I don’t feel as afraid as I was back then to speak my mind.. to be me. And yet, Skyfire didn’t care that I had suffered in your absence. First he said he could get me a cell either next to you or advocate to put me in the same cell as you, but then he threatened to have you moved away so I wouldn’t find you. The only reason I agreed to his terms to talk to Clematis at all was to try and protect you, but she’d been a key part of the plan anyway so I kinda had to talk to her. So.. I sorta lied to Skyfire.
“However.. there was one more attempt to turn me against you. Before I continue, I want you to let me finish because I know you’re not going to like what I have to say at first.” The crimson seeker glanced into Starscream’s optics, tightening her grip on his servo somewhat. Her expression was sincere, hoping he would trust what she’d said. “In an attempt to prove Clematis never abandoned me, apparently Skyfire got with Jazz and borrowed a datatape from him. He had me review the tape, and within it was Jazz’s recollection of that night in Uraya and how he had rescued my twin. However, there was more than that in that footage. In it.. was the bombing itself, and Jazz had seen who dropped the bomb. It was you..” Nightshroud’s expression shifted into something a bit remorseful, taking a couple seconds before speaking once more. “It.. came as a shock. I knew the Decepticons had been the ones to bomb Uraya from the beginning, but I never knew who dropped the bomb on the science lab nor did I ever expect to. I thought long and hard about it, and I forgive you.”
Nightshroud smiled sadly as her wings perked up, continuing to stroke her thumb against Starscream’s servo. “We were different bots back then. We didn’t know each other, and it’s not like you were specifically trying to kill me. Yes, that night left me scarred deeply and I still have nightmares from that night, but I also thought about everything you’ve done for me. Whether you knew you’d been the one to drop the bomb or not, you still took me in and cared for me. You made me feel happy and safe. If you want you can consider everything you’ve done ‘making it up to me’, but there’s something I want you to know. If you had not bombed Uraya, I don’t think I would be sitting here with you right now telling you all this. That one action, whether intentional or not, ensured that I would find my way to you. So please.. don’t blame yourself if that’s what you’re thinking. I’m not upset with you or even angry. Even knowing all of that I still love you, sire. Nothing could ever change that.”

Starscream was bracing himself for the worst, but he still wasn’t prepared to hear Skyfire’s designation. This was going to be worse than he was anticipating. His spark was beating against its casing, panic rising. He tried to recall the last time he saw Skyfire, how they had fought in the air before both going down. Had he shot him with his null ray a second time? All he could recall from that time was the blinding rage over the betrayal from the shuttle. It didn’t stop there, Skyfire thought there was something so wrong with him that he needed to have his processor diagnosed?
That he needed to beg for forgiveness both from Skyfire and Thundercracker? Starscream was enraged. Who was Skyfire to say such things to his seekerling? To dismiss her pain, force her to reconnect with the twin she despised so much. Rage was still burning within his spark when the tone shifted.
She knows. She knows he was the one responsible for the bombing. He expected blame, fury and vengeance… instead he was met with forgiveness, kindness and love.
Starscream gently took his servo away from Nightshroud’s, before wrapping his arms around her and crashing her into his chest plate in a fierce hug. Primus, how did this happen? When had he gotten so attached? Why was she forgiving him? Despite her reassurance, guilt crushed his spark, his frame shaking from the emotional overload and how exhausted he truly was.
It was just so easy to slip back into his old habits, burying any feelings aside from rage down in the depths of his spark, well hidden beneath layers of protective walls. It was lonely, miserable and he would not let his Seekerling fall into those patterns.
In an effort to better himself, for her, he’d open up.
Placing a kiss on her helm, Starscream moved a servos to pet her in that familiar gesture between them. It did help him calm down a little so he took it as a small victory.
“You…” His voice modulator was filled with static but he kept talking, owing that much to Nightshroud. “You changed me... I was fueled by rage and bitterness for eons, devoted to the War, caring about no one but myself. When I saw you… You reminded me so much of myself… blinded by that all consuming rage that makes one lose focus on everything else. Like love, friendship, family… It made me re-examine my own views on the big picture. Made me realize that I had been backing up the wrong cause for too long.”
Starscream paused, grimacing as he braced himself for the next part.
“What I truely, really want with all my Spark, is to take my Flock and get off Earth. Going to Cybertron might not be possible for now, but leaving this mud-ball behind is something that would be good for the both of us. I don’t care about the inhabitants of this planet but Optimus Prime and Megatron care too much to allow us to live in peace. Leaving this planet is the only solution I found that would show that I do not want to fight…” He exhaled shakily. “I want to build a safe haven for all Cybertronians that don’t want to stay on Earth. We shouldn’t be stuck here on the whim of a Prime.”
The scientist in him was also excited at the prospect of traveling in space again. Exploring, looking for energon for the pleasure of it not because a whole army relied on him. He missed making energons goodies so much. Maybe he could look into setting up a small lab in secret to brew something special to celebrate their jailbreak.

When Starscream pulled his servo away, Nightshroud grew nervous. Had she said something wrong? She quickly realized that wasn't the case when she was suddenly yanked into a tight hug, optics widening as her wings shot up in surprise. It only took her mere seconds put together what had even happened before she hummed contently, wings relaxing as she closed her optics. Nightshroud wrapped her own arms around Starscream, feeling his frame trembling. She really felt bad for him after telling him what Skyfire had said, but she wondered if he honestly did not expect her to forgive him for the bombing. Did he really think she'd abandon him after everything he'd done for her and all she'd done for him? Idly she began to rub the seeker's lower back with a servo as he petted her helm, giggling softly as he kissed her helm. She couldn't have felt more relaxed in that moment, but she wanted to do what she could to help calm her adopted sire too.
It was just the two of them. She'd practically forgotten Soundwave and his cassettes were even there in the base.
Just as Nightshroud had wanted Starscream to listen to her words, she listened to every word he said carefully. It made her spark swell with joy she had helped to change him for the better without even realizing it, but hearing the plan once more made her smile. She couldn't wait to get off this spark-forsaken planet, and she wanted to help the mech realize his vision as soon as possible: to build a new home on Cybertron away from the war and away from those who had hurt them deeply.
"You know that I am more than happy to follow you in that endeavor. I want to help you rebuild Vos and take up your culture.. to become a true Vosian no matter what others say. I'm so happy I met you, and I never realized just how much of an impact I'd made on you. I know you don't want to fight anymore, and if others refuse to believe that then frag them. You don't deserve what they've put you through, and I'll always be here for you right by your side." Nightshroud leaned her helm forward, pressing it back into the mech's chest armor. "It's okay if you aren't okay.. I know you suffered too, and what I had to say had to have hurt. I can feel you shaking so much.. Please.. let it out. Let it all out. You've been strong for me, so let me be strong for you for once. I won't tell another spark, just.. let me shoulder your pain for awhile. I promise can take it."
She didn't even see or hear Soundwave slip back into the berthroom.
