Being afraid and bored all at once was an interesting combination.
The cage was small and cramped, and the cavern unsettling. But honestly, he’d spent more time bored and waiting to hear anything than anything. At the very least, the Decepticons hadn’t hurt him and kept him fed. But it was frustrating, not knowing or being told anything at all.
When he was alone, he’d scream in hopes someone would hear him. Maybe even an Autobot who may have seen the off signal.
“HELPPPPPPPPPP.” It was loud but he didn’t know if it was ever loud enough.
With normal bars he’d probably try to pick a lock. But the cage he was in with its lasers really didn’t leave room for escape attempts. Frag it all. “God I can’t wait for Bee to find me and kick your aft,” He muttered.
But with every passing day he was worried… What if Bee wasn’t coming? Would anyone really bother coming for one kid? He didn’t know, but he tried to remind himself as he seated himself back down that Bee and his bond was different than others. That he’d never leave him to rot like this….
And also couldn’t they have at least let him have his phone?

I always tried not to get into too much trouble, but it seemed that my efforts only made the situation worse. This heist should have been easy as always. A few shots, go in, grab the energon and fly away as fast as I could. However, this time the humans were more prepared than usual. Did they carry something more than just energon? Or did I simply become so predictable that they were already expecting me? I had never been good at strategies.
They had wounded me in one arm and one of my wings. I fled straight into the mountains, hoping to find somewhere to hide while my wound healed. After hours of walking I managed to find a cave. It was already night and I had nothing else to do, so I went in there and tried to get as much inside as I could. Luckily the cave was so big that I could fit in it standing up. And it was deep as a rock maze. I just hoped I wouldn't get lost. I finally decided to stop when I thought I was deep enough. I sat up and started getting some tools out of my subspace to start healing myself.

Nick noticed the sound nearby.
Was Soundwave back already? In all honesty he wouldn’t be surprised but on the other hand he usually was easy to spot. If it wasn’t him, who was it? Had the Autobots finally found him? That was honestly a very good question after all, right? How much longer was he going to be in this situation?
So after thinking it over for a few minutes, he decided to call out again.
“Hey, is someone there?” He asked keeping his voice down and hoping that it would travel with an echo. “Hello?”
On the other hand he also hoped quietly that it wasn’t another Decepticon. He didn’t know exactly how Starscream’s group would react if they knew he was trying escape. And the last thing he needed was to actually get hurt.

When I heard the noise in that dark place, my first reflex was to jump. Which was counterproductive as it only made my wound hurt more "ACK!............. Ouch..." My motion sensors don't detect anything nearby. The low visibility I had in the cave made me more nervous.
I finally registered the noise I had heard. It had been someone's voice, it was calling and asking who was there. Oh no. Did the cave belong to someone else? Was I trespassing without permission? Were they going to attack me? Although the voice did not sound hostile or threatening. It sounded, maybe a little worried? Because of this, I decided to stop and approach where the voice came from. I had one of my servos covering the wound that was still leaking energon. I was walking slowly and attentively. My footsteps echoed even if I was trying to be stealthy. Until finally, peeking through the entrance to a cave, I found the cause of my fright.
Inside a small cage of lasers, I could observe a small human child. I had several questions at the time, but I just stood there, trying to figure out how to proceed in this…situation.

Soundwave had not gone terribly far. One pain from this whole ordeal of babysitting the captured human, despite it being his own choice, was making sure the human was actually cared for during that time. Unfortunately humans did not require energon but rather that of organic supplements. He could not cook, nor did Soundwave care to learn how to do so which left him little other choice than to seek out other options. Researching some options had brought him to things such as grocery ordering services which brought the food, but uncooked primarily. That wasn't going to suffice, and so with a little further investigation that's when he discovered services that would deliver food from human restaurants to those who would order it. Perfect. And so he had made a habit of intercepting these.. Doordash orders. Soundwave would hack into the system, pull up enough information about the delivery driver as well as hacking their GPS signal to show that the driver was 'picking up the order'. Some days he would only get a meal or two at a time, but there were days where he would walk out of the restaurant with bags loaded with human foods. Very little of it was pleasing to smell, but if it would quite the human for a little longer regarding the need for sustenance then so be it. It mattered not to him that the drivers were suddenly receiving terrible ratings for 'stolen food'. That was where Soundwave had disappeared to on this very day, returning with a bag of food from the human restaurant known as the Burger King. He placed the bag of goods in his storage, insisting that Frenzy needed to stop attempting to eat the human fries on multiple occasions as he walked back into the cavern where he was keeping Nick locked up. The blue mech needed to know more about this 'bond' that Nick kept yammering about and why it was so similar to that of an Autobot signal, but he also needed to decide just what he wanted to use the kid for to begin with. He was pulled from his thoughts when he heard the voice of Nick asking if someone had been there. At first Soundwave thought he was talking about himself, but his sensors picked up on someone else being here as well. Immediately Soundwave rushed toward the cage, spotting the other bot who had intruded. "IDENTIFY YOURSELF."

Then someone else entered the cavern. I only needed one look at its visor and its shape to know who it was. I hurried to hide behind the tunnel through which I had entered.
Oh Primus, Oh Primus, Oh Primus. That was Soundwave! Third In Command of the Decepticon forces. The spymaster. What if I had done wrong in running away? This cave was his? Was he the one holding that human captive? I was trembling, but the best thing in these cases was simply to obey.
"Ta-Ta-Takeoff, from the Se-Se-Seekers Division, S-Sir!" I said, loud and mildly clear. My injury was still hurting and leaking energon

Nick nearly jumped out of his skin.
He'd been about to address the first Decepticon when Soundwave had shown up. Every time Soundwave was there now, he tensed up. Sure he kept him fed and healthy, but he could change that at any moment. Furthermore, he still didn't know what he was going to do with him at the end of this. Would he give him back to Bumblebee? Keep him as a pet or a permanent hostage? He didn't know. Plus, he couldn't deny that this was one of the most dangerous Decepticons to walk either planet.
Either way, he carefully started to stutter out a response.
"I swear! I didn't say anything... I just heard someone come in. I didn't know if it was a bear or something," He managed. Definitely not wanting Soundwave to get the idea he was still trying to find himself help. (Of course he was). He felt sweat trickle down his face as he looked between the two. "Honestly, when I saw the Con symbol I figured it was one of your people anyway. I'm not an idiot."

If anyone Soundwave had expected to see the likes of either Starscream or possibly even Nightshroud to drop by in order to deliver some supplies, but an unknown Decepticon was not he'd expected at all. He glanced between the stammering Takeoff and the stuttering Nick as they both said their peace. It was clear that Nick did not know this Decepticon, nor did Soundwave expect him to, but it was also clear that Takeoff was unaware of what was going on here. His visor glowing a deep crimson, the spymaster opened his compartment to remove the bag of food he had acquired minus one container of fries that had gone missing no doubt due to Frenzy's curiosity. Soundwave shifted his focus back to Takeoff, the wound on the mech becoming more apparent. "TAKEOFF: INJURED. RETREIVE MEDICAL SUPPLIES FROM STORAGE." The blue mech quickly pointed to one of the many crates off to the side where various first aid equipment could be found. Primarily patches to temporarily fix leaking energon lines, but there had been other basic first aid equipment in there as well that Takeoff could use. Without even turning his helm, Soundwave tossed the bag of food from the Burger King into Nick's cage. Aside from the missing container of fries, everything had been packaged nicely to avoid the food from spilling out into the bag.

I stood still for a while not knowing how to react. The red glow in Soundwave's visor paralyzed me with fear. But he was letting me use his medical supplies? I had mine, but if by chance there was a patch to stop the leaking...
"So...uh...e-e-excuse me?" I walked briskly to the crates, trying not to look at Soundwave. Out of the corner of my optic I saw how he took out human food and gave it... threw it to the little boy who was locked up. So, He had him captive? What was he doing with a captive human? Why did the vast majority of cons have to be so rare?
Among the crates I began to look for what I needed, a patch. There were some, this was much better than trying to weld the open wound. I put it on and took out a piece of cloth to clean the energon residue from my arm. Although my wing was something else. There was nothing major damaged, but it was somewhat bruised and burned. Nothing my self-repair systems wouldn't do, but... transforming and flying would not be recommended...

Nick took a deep breath as he dropped the food into his lap.
Honestly, Nick still felt a bit like a dog. But at the same time, it was better than being treated like dead meat wasn't it? All the same, it had been days now. He was getting more and more nervous. How much longer was it going to be before he got himself out of this situation? He began eating the burger quickly, taking a deep breath and watching the new guy as he was trying to heal himself. "Oh, more people know where I am now huh? That's gotta piss you off..." Nick joked toward Soundwave. "One slip of the tongue and my dad shows up to kick in your door and your skidplate."
Was Nick probably being a little bold? Maybe. But at the same time, it was the only way to keep himself from staying too scared, right? After a moment, he side-eyed Soundwave. "Thanks by the way...." He did add. He hated to say it, but his politeness he'd always had would show. Even for his captor. "So, new guy - you're a seeker like Starscream, huh?"

Soundwave found it quite easy to brush aside the human Nick's threats of his dad coming to beat them up. Bumblebee was hardly a threat, and dealing with him would be simple. All he needed to do was have enough time to figure out what the heck this 'bond' thing was that the child kept going on and on about and how it could benefit the Decepticons.. or at least keep the Autobots at bay. It wasn't something he was proud of, but it was hard to slip from old habits when such an opportunity presented itself. It at least offered a chance to help his apparent new family safe if he could just work out this mystery. But now there was someone new here in the cavern, and they were a seeker as well. The spymaster cocked his helm to the seeker as they seemed confused by his order to retrieve first aid from the crates. He continued to watch as they started to patch themselves up, but it was quite noticeable that they were in need of a bit more than patches at least until the self repairs truly worked their magic. Soundwave did not trust this Decepticon, but this did grant them the chance of getting to know one another. Primus knew the human had already had those chances as it was. "TAKEOFF: REASONING FOR COMING TO THIS CAVERN?" Soundwave quickly glanced to Nick, noting that he was at least eating his food. At least he was getting the decent stuff and not whatever secondhand slop the former communications officer could find was.

I was so amazed with the little human's way of speaking. All my systems stopped in an instant. This little human was aware of who he was talking to? Probably not, or maybe he had a lot of trust in his... Dad? That was the human designation for a male guardian with whom he shared genetic code, right? But what would a mere human be able to do? Or would he have something with which to defend himself against Cybertronians? My survival subroutines were alarmed at not understanding this situation.
The little human then asked about me. Wasn't it obvious? But I remembered that they did not have good vision in the dark, nor scanning systems for the surroundings, so it was understandable. I would have answered him, but… Soundwave was still looking at me. My helm moved from one to the other, I didn't know if it was okay to answer the little human's questions, and I didn't want to make the spymaster angry. I was very confused and somewhat scared about it.
But when Soundwave asked me, the information came out of my voice box automatically "I-I... I was see-seeking shelter to rest and re-repair myself, after an unsu-su-successful attempt to get energon, S-Sir !" I was silent for a moment because, again, my voice box was failing from fear and nervousness. I recovered after a moment and kept talking "This place was the first one I found with the necessary size to accommodate me, Sir"

Nick had started to eat something when he felt a pain.
What the heck? Was that normal? He’d been feeling in the last several hours but he hadn’t said anything. It had been a little like that ever since his and Bee’s bond was blocked, but it was starting to be more prominent. All the same it was bad enough by this point that he should say something… Even if he got ignored.
“Y’know if you’re gonna keep me much longer you could at least get me some painkillers,” Nick admitted as he wiped newly forming on his forehead. “I’ve had pain around my chest ever since you cut dad and I off from each other. If I pass out or die or something, you’ll be in for an actual problem.”
Finishing his food he tried to calm himself a bit - cringing. He was confused though, searching for Energon? He thought they had plenty these days! “Uhhh why are you having trouble with Energon? There seems to be plenty in the cities.” He explained.

The human Nick's pains still served to confuse Soundwave. There were no traces of peanuts in any of the stolen orders, nor did this seem to be an allergy of any sort. It made no sense to Soundwave, yet he was continuing to go on about how this was some side effect of blocking his bond with Bumblebee. He still to this day could not understand this bond thing, and he needed to get a better understanding of it soon. On top of that, now there was Takeoff who had unintentionally discovered their location and was now factored into all this. Soundwave could feel a processor ache coming on. "ILLOGICAL. SYMPTOMS APPEAR TO BE STRESS OR ANXIETY. FURTHER ELABORATION REQUIRED." Maybe that would get Nick talking about this bond thing more as he listened to Takeoff. It seemed the guy was just looking for a place to rest and repair himself, much like Nightshroud had when she had met Starscream. This was becoming all too common with Decepticons nowadays in the struggle to obtain energon, and Takeoff was extremely lucky that Soundwave wasn't one of the violent ones trying to fend him off. Many Decepticons on the run had become that way. It was kill or be killed at this point, and he wondered if that was GHOST and the Autobots' intended plan to capture them in the end. But Nick brought up another point. Energon in the city.. The spymaster huffed, then added his two shanix. "ENERGON IN THE CITY: BOT BRAWLS. TRAP DESIGNED TO LURE OUT DECEPTICONS IN NEED OF ENERGON. MANY CAPTURED OR KILLED IN THE PROCESS." He would know. Soundwave had fought in one out of desperation and had been lucky enough to win the battle and make it out with much needed energon. He had been a gladiator once that rivaled Megatron himself in strength, and even without his powers he could take a bot down easily. Unfortunately, it had kickstarted Frenzy and Lazerbeak's love for commentary during a fight.
