Nick was still working on things on the farm.
While it seemed remedial Nick also knew it had to be done. At least because he wasn’t living there anymore and that meant cleaning out some things. It was a good way of killing time while Bumblebee was with the Terrans. Sure, he’d heard word of a Decepticon breakout and he wasn’t “supposed” to be on his own.
But Nick considered himself smart enough that wouldn’t be an issue.
So he came in and out of the house with some boxes. Sorting through what he needed post-move in with Bumblebee and what could go. Some sentimental, others not so much. “I think that’s good progress for the day,” he finally muttered as he stacked them carefully by the side of the house. “And I think I’m done just before he is. See? He’ll never know.”
That didn’t help the fact that Nick somehow felt watched.
He was used to that on the farm. Considering it was notoriously haunted, but a part of him still kept his hand near his cell phone just in case. Auburn eyes scanning the terrain as he considered if he should call his old boss for a ride. After all, the last thing he wanted was to make anyone mad.
“Frag it Nick, take a deep breath,” Nick replied. “It’s a prison break, they happen all the time.”

It may be true that prison breaks may happen far too often, but today had been the wrong day to head out to the Weyland Farm for Nick.
Soundwave was more than happy to be out of that cell, though he still had his doubts about Starscream's new seeker friend Nightshroud. She seemed far too trusting when it came to Starscream, yet strangely enough was cold to everyone else. Still, it had been interesting to learn that she and Mire had teamed up in order to break the both of them out of G.H.O.S.T. HQ. He'd need to keep an optic on that one, but in no way did he mistrust his pupil. If Mire deemed the tiny seeker to be a worthy ally for this cause, then he would trust her judgement. It'd be a hesitant one for certain, but it held a lot more weight coming from Mire.
Regardless, the former communications officer had been scouting for energon reserves for their small little group. Yes they had some for now, but it was always a good idea to stay on top of the supply to prevent another shortage. If he could even find just a few spare cubes laying around that would by perfect. It was as he was passing over a small farm of sorts that he detected something.. unusual. It seemed to have some traces of Autobot signature, but it was so very different at the same time. Was there an Autobot down there with a scrambled signature? Whatever it was, it bothered Soundwave enough that he couldn't leave it alone. He wanted to investigate it, swooping down from the skies to get a closer look.

Nick heard the roar of an engine.
For a moment Nick considered that it might have been just another airplane. But on the other hand… As he squinted his eyes just enough he noticed something just faint enough that most would miss it. Nick was not most people though, so when he squinted he could just see the Decepticon sigil.
Internal panic and bile rose in his throat when he realized it was coming in for a look.
Breathe, Nick. Maybe it was a mistake. Maybe it was going in for a pit stop he told himself. All the same he had to think quick. And the only thing he could think of in that moment was the crawl space beneath his porch. Unsure if he’d already been spotted or not he dove for it getting on all fours as he did.
Carefully, he slid out his phone. Unsure just how bonds worked yet and not daring to risk that they gave off a signature. He carefully moved his finger toward Bumblebee’s name - praying to Primus, God, and whoever else would listen. “Pick up, Bee, pick up…” he sputtered to himself. “Ground me for a year I don’t care…”
As brave as he was meeting a Decepticon was not on his list of new years adventures. But as he moved to open the gate he quickly found it to be locked. Shit. He muttered under his breath as he attempted to yank it open, not daring to look back as he did. “C’mon the one place small enough and you lock it Dave?” He muttered. “Great…”

Soundwave continued his descent until he drew close enough to the ground that he could transform without risk of injury. Primus knew the last thing they needed was for Soundwave to be injured considering they were short on medics at the moment unless you wanted to count whatever Nightshroud was capable of patching up. As he transformed, the mech looked around as his visor lit up. There was nothing out of the ordinary so far, but just where had that strange signal come from? Looking through a place with such small buildings was going to be a pain, but Soundwave had an easy workaround for that as his chest compartment opened. "RAVAGE: EJECT" Out from his chest leapt a black cassette that transformed into a black panther. The creature roared as it landed on the ground, turning back to look at the Decepticon curiously. In his trademark monotonous, synthesized voice Soundwave issued a command. "OPERATION: INVESTIGATE UNUSUAL ENERGY SIGNATURE" With a nod, Ravage rushed toward the nearest building in order to poke around. Neither he nor Soundwave knew what they were looking for, but Ravage was able to get into smaller spaces that the former communications officer couldn't get into. Looking around, it didn't take long for Ravage to spot the nearby human. The Cassetticon roared at the human before attempting to pounce him.

Nick felt panic rise in his chest as Soundwave, being massive was of course loud enough to hear.
Trembling, Nick got onto his knees as he could hear more footsteps. Thinking quickly he only had one major thought in his head: the barn. Maybe if he got to it just in time they wouldn’t see him. Unfortunately, he’d turned his head to check the coast just as Ravage pounced. Knocking him to the ground as Nick cried out.
When he noticed who was on him, he nearly pissed himself.
“Nonononono,” he managed as he tried to squirm his arm out from behind him. “Get off of me! Get off!” He cried out panicking as he realized the phone would definitely show Bee’s name and picture. “Dad!!! Dad help me!” This time his voice had raised into a full-blown scream.
He didn’t know if Bumblebee was listening but the only thing he could think in that moment was to cry out. He didn’t even think of the fact he’d screamed out the title, just focused on attempting to hit at Ravage or grab at a loose cable. Anything to get this thing off of him before his master showed up.
“I don’t know who you think I am, ok? I’m just a farm kid! Big fan though. Big fan.” He attempted. Maybe if they believed him they’d let go. "Please, just let me go. I have people who will miss me."

No matter how much he begged or cried, Ravage did not sympathize. This kid just seemed to be another pushover who wanted someone else to save him, just like that Spike kid in his youth half the time. All Ravage did know was that as he lowered his head to get closer to the kid, he sensed that signal Soundwave was looking for seconds before the kid so rudely tugged at one of his cables. He didn’t pull it loose but fragging hell it hurt! The panther roared as he jumped away painfully. However, doing so drew Soundwave’s attention. The larger mech immediately rushed over the second he heard Ravage yelp, glaring daggers at the child that had foolishly thought to bring his Cassetticon harm. His child. It didn’t take long for Soundwave to notice the signal seemed to originate from somewhere on the kid’s person. “AUTOBOT SYMPATHIZER”
Soundwave reached down, attempting to grab the kid with his servo.

Nick thought quickly.
Going for a single box nearby he grabbed and stuffed something for anyone to find just inches from the site. A cassette player. It wasn’t much but if he knew Bumblebee, he’d know exactly what it meant. He was able to achieve this moments before he felt claws wrap around his waist.
Squirming he let out a startled cry.
But he was not about to show this freak any more fear. Soundwave was one of the most feared Decepticons ever and he was not about to be intimidated. “Get it right you cyclops-looking freak of nature. I am an Autobot. Nothing sympathizer about it!” He announced loudly, and proudly. “And if you don’t put me down right fragging now my dad’ll make sure to remind you of the last dozen times he’s kicked your ass!”
Fear bubbled in his stomach as he attempted to gather himself. What the heck did he do? The only thing he could think was to add. “Unless you really want to piss off Bumblebee,” he added. “Y’all have such a great track record with that.”
He was making sure he made as much loud noise as he could, so if Bee was nearby he could hear him.

As Ravage climbed up Soundwave to perch the taller mech’s shoulder and back, Soundwave cast a deep glare at the loud child. Humans really were a troublesome species, but this one was curious at the same time. He’d called himself an Autobot, though they did not seem Cybertronian to him. Probably some fan of the Autobot scum or some kid that decided the Autobots sounded cool and he wanted to join their ranks. What a fool. Children had no place in a war, especially when they were of another species. He had no clue what he spoke of, but if he wanted to root for the wrong side then that was fine by Soundwave. That was.. until he mentioned something even more peculiar. Something about a dad, but something about pissing off Bumblebee if the blue Decepticon did not place the child down within the foreseeable future. Interesting indeed, and it made Soundwave smirk a little behind his mask. If there was one thing that the Autobots were known for, it was their weakness for the human allies and Bumblebee seemed to be the worst offender when it came to Spike Witwicky. Now there was this child? Had Spike outgrown his kid appeal robot days and Bee needed a replacement kid to keep the title going? Well if that was the case. “HUMAN: ACCOMPANYING SOUNDWAVE. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.”

What? Coming with him? There was absolutely no way in hell.
Nick could feel his pulse beating faster. Freaking out to a point where surely something was coming out in their bond now. Even if he wasn’t 100% positive of this. No. No. No. he had to get out of this somehow. “Are you nuts!? Don’t you get it, I’m not just some random human. Bumblebee. Is. My. DAD. I have a sigil and a bond with him to prove it!” he snapped back at him. “You take me and I’m not home soon, he’s gonna come for me. And kick your rusted metal ASS.”
Honestly, he could at least 1000% pray for it. Would Bumblebee come for him? On one hand, he cared about him. But would he risk his cover?
Who was he kidding? Nick knew he would. Bee had to if he was taken right. But finally out of energy from squirming he groaned. Going limp, but more from exhaustion. “Just let me go, and I’ll pretend I never saw you,” he managed. “Nobody has to get hurt.”
Please Bee… Feel the bond. Hear my voicemail. Anything. Was all he could think. Though he tried his best to send out the thought to Bumblebee too. He struggled with that part. Still not being sure. I’m so scared but I can’t show it… I can’t let him know.

Just what was this kid's deal? He claimed to be an Autobot, and now here he was claiming to be Bumblebee's kid that was bonded to him? None of this made any lick of sense to Soundwave and it made the kid sound absolutely insane, but there was that sigil. He cared not for what it looked like, but what came from it. That had been the mysterious signal that he had detected! Whatever this kid's deal was, that had to wait. The fact was he apparently had some ties to Bumblebee, and he was sporting something that had an Autobot signal on it. Could prove useful as a hostage, but the question remained where to even take him. Do he dare take this child back to the base where they were currently operating out of? Or was it better to find a separate location and take the kid there? Either way, putting some hurt on the Autobots was nice but luring them into a trap was even nicer. "CORRECT: NO ONE SHALL BE HURT. NO ONE.. EXCEPT AUTOBOT SCUM." With Nick still in hand, Soundwave started to walk away from the structure and toward an open field. Unless Nick tried something quickly, he was about to be escorted to another location forcibly, but hey! Who could argue with a free 'vacation' and free travel aboard a Cybertronian no less? True it was a Decepticon, but don't look the gift horse in the mouth.

Nick definitely wanted to fight, but he was out of options.
All he could do at this point was pray that Bee had heard something. But slag it all, what if he hadn’t? As he saw the house start to become a spec in the distance he felt a tightness in his stomach. His heart rate skyrocketed, he wanted to go home. He wished he’d never gone against what Bee had asked him to do… For once Nick was petrified.
“I just wanna go home,” Nick said as he could feel tears streaking down his face. “I want Bee…” that last part he muttered to himself. Not wanting to give him ammunition.
Though he did have to think for a moment there. He did have one move he could still make. It was a gutsy decision but would Soundwave know smart watches? A thought occurred to him. Even if they lost the signal where they were going it should give them an idea.
Covertly covering his wrist, he started to get on the small app. “Share My Location” come on. Come on. As he pressed the button, he quietly hoped that there was no familiarity to this mech. Or he’d be hosed. “Where are we going anyway!? Didn’t they literally dismantle your bases years ago?” He asked in annoyance. Still vaguely squirming.

Primus the kid was crying...Humans really could be annoying at times, but the same could be said of any species. Rumble and Frenzy loved to cause trouble back in the day, and Frenzy still did even now. The thought of the duo brought a silent sadness to Soundwave, not wanting to dwell on it too long. If only there had been more that he could have done to prevent what had happened that day, but there was nothing that would change the outcome. Either way, Megatron would be paying for it one way or another. Once Soundwave put some distance between himself and the barn, he opened up his compartment so that Ravage could transform and hop back inside. Once the Cassetticon was safe and sound, Soundwave himself transformed and Nick quickly found himself in the cockpit of the former communication officer's F-117 form. Any kid would be excited had it not been a Decepticon, but when would Nick get to say he got to fly like this again? The mech sighed to himself as the kid continued to yammer on about missing Bee and proclaiming how the bases had been destroyed. Where were they going to go? "CLASSIFIED" That's all Soundwave was going to say about the matter before flying away completely ignoring the yellow car that was pulling up to the barn. Gee, that could've been anyone.

Nick yelped as he was transformed around.
To say the least it was a new and frightening experience. But when he was in the cockpit he did seem to relax just slightly knowing he wasn’t about to be crushed. His eyes lowered as he saw Bee slamming a fist against the glass as he did. Frag it all, he regretted this. If he had just listened… Crossing his arms in the cramped cockpit he observed everything.
In a normal military aircraft, he might have been able to do some damage. But with Soundwave he doubted any of these worked. He watched his watch carefully, it seemed to still be giving a signal but it was hard to tell with a communications expert as his captor if he wasn’t screwing with it somehow.
Once he’d finally cried himself out, he decided he should get comfortable on the ride to “classified”. “Alright, Slenderman. I gotta say you actually got away with it. And no villain speech? I’m kind of disappointed.” He admitted. “I’m gonna guess you jammed my connection to the bond too. Because I haven’t felt anything from Bee… So it’s gonna be a long ride.”
Looking out upon the landscapes as they passed one dreadful thought did occur to him. What were they going to do to him? Torture? Murder. Nick pulled his legs fo his chest in a hug as he thought about it a minute. “Can you at least tell me if you’re gonna kill me?” He asked - honestly. “Or torture me. Or whatever? I can handle knowing. I might even be a little less whiny if I have some idea of what’s going on.”
It was true - Nick was a brave kid, he could handle whatever they had in mind. Even come to terms with his own death if he had to. But not knowing if he’d live to see the next day scared him more than anything. The only thing that gave him some semblance of hope was the way Soundwave was known to treat his cassettes like his kids. If the rumors were true.
It gave him the tiniest shred of hope he had a no hurting kids policy. But he also very much doubted it.

Slenderman? Soundwave actually to run a query on that one, determined not to ask this child to explain the insult. 'SLENDERMAN: FICTIONAL CHARACTER ORIGINATED FROM A CREEPYPASTA OFTEN DESCRIBED AS BEING UNUSUALLY TALL AND THIN WITH A FEATURELESS FACE AND A BLACK SUIT.' Interesting.. Even now he did not see the comparison, but Soundwave chose to ignore it. He did, however, find this child's mention of a bond with Bumblebee curious. Twice now he had mentioned it and it matched with the signal he had detected, but how was it a bond? The child had no spark, so how could that be? Had the Autobots come up with some new terminology that he had not yet encountered? This would require some research, and if such a thing were possible despite the lack of spark it would definitely be worth looking into. Shockwave would certainly be curious but alas, he was not around. It was just him, Starscream, Mire and Nightshroud. Whatever this child was feeling with this 'bond' would have to wait, but indeed the signal was blocked. As they flew, the human insisted in keeping up casual conversation much to the blue mech's annoyance. He wasn't willing to just divulge any information, and that was considering that he barely spoke at all. It had taken a miracle to get him to reveal his true voice to Starscream, and even that had been a moment of desperation and convenience. As for what his plans were.. "UNKNOWN SIGNAL ORIGINATING FROM HUMAN. TIES TO AUTOBOT BUMBLEBEE. HUMAN: USEFUL." He'd leave it as that as he neared the mountains.
