Hot Rod's teasing only made Clematis laugh more. "I know, I know, but there are multiple ways to learn. Sometimes you learn by seeing how others do things too. Gives you ideas on how to formulate your own techniques and such, but you do have a fair point too." Clematis was pretty flexible with how she learned and both hands on experience and watching someone at work helped her as well, but that wasn't to say that the same techniques worked for others. Truthfully she was just happy to spend time with her boyfriend, but knew that they did have a task at hand of improving her combat techniques.
It did amuse her though that Hot Rod was so quick to dismiss the very notion of medical training or at the very least wanting time to think on it. It wasn't for everyone, and things could get very complicated depending on what needed to be done. Clematis knew that better than anyone as a medic still learning things, but it didn't hurt to know the absolute basic first aid either. "No worries. No offense taken, but you never know when something will come in handy. Who knows~. Maybe you'll be stuck somewhere unexpected and need to reassemble somebody. Not saying the chances of that are very likely, but still." The azure and lilac femme chuckled a bit as the mental image sank in. "I just wanna help you out, you know? You're taking so much time to train me on how to fight better and I wanna help you however I can too. Only seems fair to me."
Stretching a bit, Clematis swung her arms back a bit. "So any other cool tricks you can teach me?"

Hot Rod shrugged. "Alright. You convinced me. Teach me some of your medical skills." he said.
But before they got to that, Hot Rod felt obliging Clem's request to teach some cool tricks was the right call.
"Well, one thing a good transformer needs to do, is work their vehicle mode into an attack."
Hot Rod pressed some buttons on the training control, deploying a Hologram of the Decepticon Sixshot.
"Such as this." Hot Rod transformed into vehicle mode, then he revved his engine at top speed and drove up a small ramp; slamming into Sixshot's chest.
He transformed back into robot mode in mid air and achieved a perfect landing. "The trick is to use your speed to your advantage."

Clematis was excited that Hot Rod was convinced to let her teach him some medical skills. She felt it was only fair that she do something for him in return, but she never would have forced him to learn if he really didn't want to. There'd be plenty of other chances with different things she could show him, but it would be a nice teaching moment for her too.
Still, she had asked her boyfriend if there were any other cool tricks he could teach her and Hot Rod indeed had something in mind. Curiously the azure and lilac femme watched as Hot Rod fired up the hologram device before transforming. At first she honestly wasn't sure what it was that he was planning to do but it made sense once he got going. He was using his speed to rush his opponent, transforming and flying at them quickly. In a way it was similar to how Nightshroud liked to use her afterburners to rocket at her opponents, but that was a speed Clematis would never be able to achieve in bot mode let alone vehicle mode. Jets were just so much faster! Clematis clapped her servos with a smile once the demonstration was complete. "I never thought about using my vehicle mode that way. I'm actually really glad you showed me that now." She could apply that not just toward closing in on an enemy quickly, but also rushing toward an injured bot too.
Every second counted.
"I could probably show you more medical things in the backroom of Cyber-Remedies, but we can save that for when we're ready. We've got a practice dummy they use at medical facilities to practice various treatments, but we use it to test the medicine we make to make sure it likely won't have any harmful affects.. or no effect at all. Though truthfully I could see you making a game out of it. Going for the high score in fixing things." Clematis giggled a bit as the mental image filled her processor. "But we can always start with the basics here. After all, it's good to familiarize yourself with everything in a medkit first and how it's used. Some of it I'm sure you've probably seen before, but never hurts to go over it just in case."
Walking over to a bench, Clematis took a seat before opening her storage to pull out the medkit. She kept it on her at all times just in case, but it was always a good idea to keep one around in general. Placing it on the bench, she opened it up before pulling out various materials as she named them. "Let's see.. Staples of any standard medical kit would be your standard array of tools such as your wrenches, screwdrivers, portable welding and soldering tools, buffers, replacement energon lines and various patches. You've got your electrical tape and heat-shrinking tubing for any damaged wiring that's salvageable and leakproof sealant tape for energon lines that aren't too badly damaged. If it's cut a fourth of the way or less it's salvageable, but any more and you risk the line tearing even further to the point of completely severing it. At that point you'd be better off replacing the entire line." Setting down the tapes, she picked up a much large roll of white tape. "And this is for damaged armor, but really should just be used for patching. For example you're missing a small chunk of armor and you can't weld it back together, you'd want to use this fiberglass casting tape to help protect the area from any internal damage. It takes a few minutes to set, but it can be removed by a medic very easily. Not pretty, but gets the job done until someone can fix it up properly." There was more than just those items in her medkit, but Clematis wanted to start with basics and let Hot Rod ask any questions he wanted before overwhelming the poor guy so quickly.

Hot Rod was impressed that Clem had caught onto his vehicle mode trick rather quickly. Despite what she claimed, maybe she did have the spirit of a fighter after all.
Nevertheless, now it was Hot Rod's turn for some tutoring, He listened to Clem's initial lecture thoughtfully.
"Hmm... Okay okay... but what about detached limbs?" Hot Rod asked. "What if...say. I'm in a situation where Kup's been amputated and I have to reattach his leg or something?"

Clematis was so proud~! Hot Rod wasn't immediately showing signs of a blown fuse in his processor with all the medical knowhow she was dumping on him. She wanted to keep it as straight and to the point as she could, but sometimes she couldn't help but go into a little bit of detail. There were reasons tools were in the medkit and what they could and couldn't be used for, and she felt it was best to go over that to give her boyfriend some kind of idea of what everything was.
But then he threw out that question. At first Clematis blinked in surprise, but smiled. "Well I was more joking when I'd said that, but that's a completely fair question. I guess it would depend on how Kup's leg was removed. If it was done carefully enough I'd say you could just reconnect the leg fairly easily with the right tools, maybe replace a few energon lines between the leg and the rest of the frame. Now if his leg was blown off or ripped off.. that's something even I wouldn't be able to fix. Not yet, anyway. You'd want to get Kup to a medic who specializes in surgical repairs like Ratchet or someone, but that doesn't mean you can't do things to help keep him comfortable or help stabilize him." Reaching for the medkit, the azure and lilac femme moved the top shelf to open up the rest of the kit. Inside were several pouches as well as a small device. "You could set up temporary energon lines to keep the energon flowing normally so he's not bleeding and then use the casting tape to protect the wound, but let's get a little more creative. Let's say that Kup's unconscious and he's lost a lot of energon. You've cleaned the wounds up, but he really needs energon to replace what he's lost, and he obviously can't drink it if he's unconscious."
Pulling out the device from the medkit, Clematis held it in her servos. It was no larger than the average pede of any bot and almost looked like a small box with a couple of ports. "This is an emergency energon transfuser. It's like the ones you see in hospitals, but portable and much more compact. There's a couple ways that you can use it, though one is much more preferred than the other. You can link one end into a pouch of energon like I have in my medkit and then the other end goes into a port on your body. Best place would be the port right here." With a single digit Clematis pointed to the inside of her elbow joint. "Easiest one to access. The energon pouches are usually medical grade.. lower grade but with plenty of additives to boost self-repairs and to help keep someone from purging it right back up. I don't recommend doing this if you aren't a medic, but if you didn't have any energon pouches you could also connect the other end to yourself. It's pretty draining from what Ratchet's told me, and it's not something you want to do if you can't stomach it. You'll be left feeling drained, but hey.. if you're saving a life it's worth it, right?"
