"Yeah. It makes a better place to race than Cybertron I'll give you that" Hot Rod murmured. "Still...what I wouldn't give for some Macadams oil right now"
As Bumblebee brought up Autobot City Hot Rod tensed up.
"No, I haven't been to Autobot City yet. I'm...not really on board with this whole G.H.O.S.T. thing either." Hot Rod admitted. He'd heard some rumors. Nothing solid. But it was enough to make him not sign up with the Autobots who were actively working with G.H.O.S.T. He felt bad about it though. He couldn't help but feel like on some level he was abandoning Optimus.
"Right now I'm just traveling...Might stick around in Witwicky a bit. I heard a rumor there's a whole new breed of Transformers or something?"

Ohh Maccadams. What Bumblebee would have given to sit in that place again and have some of that nice energon while surrounded by bots both there to chat and to probably start some sort of bar fight or something. Sometimes Bee wished he could've seen what it was like before the war, but to be honest he was just glad he got to see the place at all. "Don't you know it. I sure do miss that place. Maccadam always had the best stuff. Just makes you wonder what his secret was to getting his servos on such great oil and Energon."
He wondered if there was a place like it over in Autobot City, but it'd never really been something he'd thought to have asked before. Maybe next time he ran into Optimus or Wheeljack he could ask, or maybe even Clematis. His thoughts were immediately torn from the thought of a nice, stiff drink as Hot Rod mentioned that he had not yet ventured to Autobot City. "Hey, don't sweat it. Not every 'bot is on board with them either. I know Wheeljack isn't for one, but there's plenty others too. It's just that.. most of them are on the move because G.H.O.S.T. kinda wants all of us to register with them. Like that's gonna happen. Optimus needs me to stay out of their sight on a top secret mission."
It was funny that that was the moment that Hot Rod picked that moment to ask about the new breed of Transformers. "Yeah that's kinda the other part of my mission. I wouldn't exactly call them a breed or anything, but yeah. There's a whole bunch of bots that were born here on Earth just last year. We've been calling them Terrans cause that's what Mandroid called them and they kinda like that name." Scrap.. he was gonna have to explain Mandroid too. "Mandroid's.. not a great guy for clarification. Has a thing with stealing Cybertronian body parts and attaching them to himself even though he's the guy wanting to wipe us out of existence. Don't ask cause I don't know either, but yeah. Optimus asked me to help train the Terrans and teach them what it means to be a Transformer. Of course the more I've tried the more I've learned they're very different from us, not that that's a bad thing."

Hot Rod grinned at the mention of Maccadam's. "I miss that old geezer too. Although the funny thing is he kept calling me Rodimus sometimes. I wonder what's up with that?"
When Bumblebee brought up the recent troubles involving G.H.O.S.T and the Terrans Hot Rod was silent for a bit.
When he finally spoke up he sounded a little morose. "Yeah, I... I'm definitely gonna stick around for a bit. I don't know if I'm gonna be on board with the whole G.H.O.S.T thing -you know me and authority- but it sounds like the Autobots need all the help they can get right now."
"I've been out of the action for too long. It's time to get back into it. Maybe I can show those Terrans a thing or two."
"Besides. Someone's gotta kick your tailpipe at racing."

A sleek blue car had been following the race, hardly making it out of the middle of the pack. After the race, however, it was quick to catch Hot Rod’s little victory dance, and quietly stayed just out of the way. With lights dimmed and engine silent, it tracked him off towards the forest..
Stealth and silence was in her nature, so Punch hardly meant to sneak up behind the two ‘bots like she did. She stood up and leaned against a tree, the evening darkness plunging her into shadow. If one was really paying attention, they might have heard her cy-gar flick on. Otherwise, her voice may have been a bit of a shock:
“You know as well as I do that old coot has a few screws loose, Rod.” She chuckles. “Although I think that’s why he could mix drinks like that.” She takes a soft drag from her cy-gar, and elects to say nothing on the other topics being discussed at the moment.

Bumblebee scratched his chin with a digit as Hot Rod mentioned how Maccadam would speak to him calling him 'Rodimus' instead of 'Hot Rod'. He supposed that did track as Maccadam did sometimes seem to have moments where he spoke of things that just didn't exist. Like that time that Bumblebee supposedly won a drag race at the Tagbilarian City airport.
...Wait a minute, he'd done that just years ago! Freaky.
But not as freaky as the sudden sound of a cy-gar being lit. Without seeing who it was initially, the first thought that came to Bee's mind was Kup. Oh Primus he hoped it wasn't Kup just because he wasn't in the mood for one of those long, drawn out war stories. The voice speaking up confirmed that, thankfully, it was not Kup but someone else that the Autobot scout hadn't heard from in awhile. "Well, if it isn't Punch. Been awhile since I've seen you around."
If nothing else Bumblebee was just glad that Hot Rod was planning to stick around for awhile even if he wasn't thrilled about the whole G.H.O.S.T. situation. To his credit the longer G.H.O.S.T. and the Autobots remained allies, the sketchier things started to seem with the human organization. He still needed to figure out what all was going on for Optimus, but that wasn't going to be easy to do with training the Terrans, helping out Nick and running the occasional mission for Optimus. The Decepticons weren't going to catch themselves, or at least the scout didn't think that they would. "You're right. We really could use all the help we can get, and I'll definitely take you up on helping out with the Terrans. I can't be there to train them every single day, and a substitute would be good for them. Not even just you but everyone helping out. I think you'd get along just fine with Thrash. The kid really loves to race and thinks that he can beat me."
At Hot Rod's gest that he'd kick Bee's tailpipe at racing the yellow bot couldn't help but laugh. "Oh, in your dreams, pal. You got lucky today, but don't think you'll get lucky twice."

Hot Rod smiled. "I'd be happy to help fill in. Those kids aren't gonna know what hit em!"
Bumblebee had made a comment about getting lucky twice. Hot Rod had to laugh at that. "You totally can when you make your own luck like I do."
But the talk was interrupted at the arrival of an old friend.
"Oh hey, Punch. Been even longer since I've seen you. Is your Decepticon Counterpart nearby?"

She playfully slugs Hot Rod on the shoulder, a little roughly, and rolls her optics. Still, with the incident with him, and Bee having been in the know beforehand, it was freeing to be able to joke about it. “As near as in Nuon City, eh?”
She takes a drag from her cy-gar, listening to the two bots jab at each other. “As competitive as always, eh, boys? Just wait until Hot Rod tries to turn babysitting into a race, too.” She shakes her head. “Crazy things you’ve gotten up to lately.”

Primus.. There were some bots out there that just did not make for good babysitters, but Bumblebee had been surprised by the Terrans before. Hashtag seemed to be just fine after her solo encounter with Starscream, and Nightshade had been completely fine meeting up with Tarantulas multiple times and was actually better for it. Maybe someone like Hot Rod, as crazy as it sounded, wouldn't be the worst choice as many might have thought. The Terrans could be quite competitive, and for how much Thrash loved to race the scout he really did need that mentor. Maybe someone like Hot Rod might be able to fill that roll if given the chance.
Certainly couldn't be worse than yet another Decepticon, but then again the Maltos did seem to have a strange knack for bringing out the best in others. Just look at what Lieutenant Malto did with Megatron. The guy switched sides because of her!
"I dunno. I think the Maltobots might actually like a good race. Good luck taking on all five of them at once though if you actually manage to get them all on board for racing. Most important thing to know is if they're running low on energy, the Terrans don't actually run on energon like we do. They get charged by water with special properties found in caves." Now that he said that out loud, it sounded a lot weirder than it did in his processor. "I wouldn't ask. I don't really get it myself."
Bee was curious about the whole counterpart thing regarding Punch. Sometimes he wondered just how Punch managed to keep things straight with the whole Counterpunch thing. "Either way it's good seeing you guys again. Being away for fifteen years on a secret mission really makes you miss a bot."

Hot Rod's eyes beamed at the word race
"Oh they would like a good race huh?"he asked. "Well. I'll be sure to give them the best damn one ever. And beat them of course"
However the news of what they used as energy took him back a bit.
"Oh that..."Hot Rod paused "Yeah that's weird. Long as it works for them I suppose"
On the subject of Punch Hot Rod's eyes lit up. He remembered that day at Nuon City. How Counterpunch had broken cover to save him and Bumblebee almost risking everything for them. Luckily with some quick thinking, Bumblee and Hot Rod had managed to help Punch keep her cover intact.
"Yeah good to see all you guys again."Hot Rod smiled.
It was good to be among family again.

Punch stayed quiet while Bee was talking about his new wards, curious but choosing to just listen for now. When Bumblebee complained about being undercover for so long, though, she certainly understood. “You don’t have to tell me twice, Bee.” She laughed, shaking her head. “It’s nice to see some familiar faces, or at least some friendly ones.” She agreed with Hot Rod. “Just like old times, but with less fighting, huh? And less drinking,” she chuckled. “Unless you guys know a place?”

Bumblebee was glad that at least Punch understood the pains of having to go undercover. It meant not being able to go where you wanted whenever you wanted. Bee had already taken some pretty risky measures to try and find Breakdown as it was, and that involved him needing to change his alt-mode several times because he thought he'd cut things too close. He still hoped to run into the guy at some point and convince the guy to stop putting himself in danger.
This little gathering did feel like old times though, even if it wasn't at Maccadam's or somewhere else on Cybertron. It was nice to have that little moment of familiarity.
Though Punch's question did put a thought in Bee's head. "Ya know.. I don't actually know any places like that, Punch. Maybe there's something in Autobot City, but can't say I've actually been there. Sure it's Autobot controlled, but if G.H.O.S.T. decides to pay a visit and I know they do, I can't be seen just roaming the streets." And man did it suck. All his friends lived out there and were establishing homes and even businesses out there. He hated that he had to ask them to visit the Malto residence or anywhere else in secret, but maybe one day he'd finally be free and be able to go wherever he wanted without having to be insanely careful.

Punch nods gently as Bumblebee talks, watching his faceplate grow woeful as he mentions Autobot City. “I know whatcha mean, Bee.” she agrees, “I don’t trust ‘em either. Neither of us-” she jabs a thumb at her chest, referring to herself and her alter ego, “- have been anywhere near.” After a pause, she looks down at the ground. “I miss it, though. Friends, stories... Not having to hide.” With a short huff, she straightens her posture, shakes out her head, and looks back towards the other ‘bots. “But I think we’re too sober for that conversation, eh?”
