Hot Rod thought it best to diffuse the situation. He knew Magnus had some or all of the same questions he had before Megatron was brought up. "Is this Earth another one of Cybertron's old abandoned colonies? Are these humans Cybertronians?" He was curious as to what they looked like. Cybertronian colonies sometimes had taken a weird life of their own. There was one where they all had taken beast alt modes. He rather liked that planet the bots there were so primal even if it was all squishy and gooey.
After getting the answers on humans, he spoke softly with Clematis. "Please forgive Magnus' outburst. He lost most of his memories early in the war. The only surviving memory is Megatron attacking him. If you can get word to Optimus tell him to keep Megatron far away unless he wants a no holds barred fight between them putting innocent lives at risk. It would be like blowing up that escape craft in the middle of a city after stuffing every inch of it with as much explosive material as possible."

Hot Rod's words definitely helped to relax Clematis a bit as she continued the drive to Autobot City. It helped to know that not everyone was as furious about the whole Megatron thing as Ultra Magnus was, but hearing just why the mech was so angry definitely helped to put things into perspective. It was completely understandable in that case why Ultra Magnus would be so angry, but the hardest part would be trying to keep things from escalating. She could tell Optimus, but there was only so much he could do if Megatron just happened to show up at some point. He could fly overhead right this second for all Clematis knew and there'd be nothing she could do to prevent the heated exchange.
"Thanks for that," Clematis returned softly to Hot Rod. "I think if it were me I would be angry too, but I know Megatron's made a lot of efforts to try and change. Like I said, I know he's responsible for the loss of so many and even our home.. but if he's willing to make a change for the better and even try to write wrongs in whatever ways he can isn't that the first step toward some sort of redemption? I'm not saying he should be forgiven, let alone trust. But just.. given a chance. I understand if you're angry about it too, and even Hot Shot for that matter. It's a lot to take in."
But there was still that question about humans to be answered. "Earth isn't a lost colony, though weirdly enough we have been able to produce energon here so there's gotta be some links between here and Cybertron. The humans are the dominant species on the planet about five to six feet tall on average when they're fully grown, and definitely don't live anywhere near as long as we do. They're organic and their technology is quite primitive compared to ours, but they're pretty adaptable and helpful in situations. They know we exist, but there's still plenty of them that hate us and want us gone.. and I don't blame them for that either. We.. did sort of bring our war to their world, damaging their home in the process and changing their lives for the better.. or worse."

“Shot and I may not be as um…adamant about wanting to see Megatron dead, we just think he should be tried, convicted, and executed as the traitorous slag that he is. But we ain’t getting between Megatron and Magnus that would be bad for our own sparks. He destroyed our home. He’s killed Primus only knows how many Cybertronians and I assuming humans. Unless he gains the power to restore our home to its former glory and raise the dead there is nothing he can do to redeem his spark.”
Rod did not like the sound of humans. They sounded like they would be a hindrance. He also wondered why they were still alive, Megatron could have easily wiped them out if they were as squishy and pathetic as they sounded. He really hoped they were not super small. Upon arrival at Autobot City he saw numerous humans and he was thoroughly moritfied. “These humans are smaller than I imagined. How in the name of Primus did they survive being so tiny and squishy before Cybertronians came along much less after?” He could already feel his servos tensing up.
