Starscream noted the lack of ‘ my’ in the reply and took it like a knife to the spark. He was going insane in here, it wasn't just the Call of the Sky, his coding was screaming at him that he needed his Trine and his Spark was yearning for two mechs that didn’t want anything to do with him romantically. With a sigh, the Seeker crumbled on the floor, huffing with resignation. He resumed his usual position, helm resting against his knees, arms and wings wrapped tightly around himself. Starscream offline his optics, not needing them anyway to nurse his broken spark. Humiliation only grew, when he heard tears dripping on his cockpit. He could already tell how the conversation would go with the ‘robot’ next door. SW: Querry; Why Starscream sad? SC: … because my spark is broken SW: Negative. Readings shows no spark malfunction SC: My fuel pump is ruptured… SW: Negative. Soundwave: would have seen leak. SC: … because my spark casing was ripped from my chest. SW: Negative. No such wounds are detected. SC: … because I'm in love with a mech that doesn't love me back. SW: Affirmative. Megatron: Hates Starscream. Skyfire: Hates Starscream. Thundercracker & Skywarp: Hate Starscream. SC: … and you? SW: Soudwave: would rather deactivate than have any relationship with Starscream
Fine, the last one didn't sound perfectly like Soundwave. What would he really sound like anyway? SW: Negative. Soundwave does not feel.
That's more like it. Starscream was too caught in his own stupid helm, having nothing to do, no company, no touch. He was miserable.

Something was definitely wrong. Now the nickname wasn't even working, and Starscream seemed more distraught than ever. Soundwave stood there and watches as the seeker slumped down, hugging close to himself in confusion. Was this why there were so many mixed signals in the seeker's words and chosen songs? It was true that seekers often went crazy when they were grounded for too long, and a cell such as this was bound to only make that longing for the skies worse. Perhaps that was his real issue the entire time, but it still didn't entirely explain the flirting and sudden take backs. Soundwave remained oblivious that the seeker was even referring to him to begin with. He still believed that his pining had been for Megatron himself, and it was only natural to feel so betrayed after everything that had happened. It was hard to say, but Soundwave could not definitively say for certain. The one thing he did know was that Starscream was in need of comfort of some kind. Words no longer seemed to be reaching him, but that didn't mean he couldn't try. The mech crouched down, kneeling on a single knee as he started to play one more song. One that he hoped would make some sort of impact. "It's like a storm That cutes a path It breaks your will It feels like that
You think you're lost But you're not lost on your own You're not alone
I will stand by you I will help you through When you've done all you can do And you can't cope I will dry your eyes I will fight your fight I will hold you tight And I won't let you" For added measure, Soundwave used one hand to power up his soundwaves once more. Opening up a small hole in the cell, the former communications officer fought to focus hard as he reached through the gap with his other hand. Gently he placed his hand on Starscream's shoulder as he continued playing the song.

Starscream was expecting another song to come from Soundwave, so he didn’t really paid any attention to it. No songs would pull him out of the spiraling overclocking of his worried processor, nor mend his broken spark. That’s what you get for getting your hopes up. Why were you stupid enough to hope. The warbling and pulsing noise that comes out of Soundwave’s servos, however, did worry him. Being hit by one of those blasts wouldn’t be what would hurt the most, but his helm hitting the other side of the cage would, for sure. Maybe, that would knock him back in another reboot. One can only hope.
Starscream didn’t even had it in him to move, ready to accept his faith. He felt something against his shoulder, snapping his processor back into something resembling normalcy, in an instant. Was Soundwave really doing something as insane as this?
Primus there’s no end to the stupidities coming from the both of them in this slagging jail. Starscream knew something had changed because he could think, hear and feel everything in such a clear way. The song did sound clearer and the warbled noises added a very… Soundwave vibe? Clear thoughts, wouldn’t you look at that. Sighing, Starscream moved his shoulder away carefully, not wanting to startle Soundwave too much, fearing the other mech would hurt himself. Like they needed that right now. The Seeker hissed under his breath with all the venom he could muster, shaking with what, he hoped, Soundwave would think was anger. “Move your arm back this instant before it gets ripped off, you glitch!”His Spark was hammering in it’s casing, worry flooding him. What in the pit was Soundwave doing?

It was a little difficult to tell, but it didn't escape Soundwave's notice that Starscream seemed to be much calmer in that moment. Keeping that opening up in the cell was difficult without the use of both hands, and even then he could only manage it for so long. Soundwave wanted to see if the physical touch would help, and it seemed to have done some good before the seeker moved his shoulder away before muttering spiteful words. There was the Starscream they all knew and 'loved'. Taking the hint, Soundwave retracted his arm from the gap in the cell before shutting down his soundwaves. If the mech sitting before him dared to turn around, he'd notice the exhaustion in Soundwave's visor as the lights began to breathe, dimming before brightening and repeating several times. Keeping his power going like that at such strength was tiring, and having done it once before already today had proven how often the spy could do such a feat before he grew too tired. Even still, he did not take his optics off Starscream, studying his reactions carefully. "STArSCreAM: FEeL BeTTEr?" Even his monotonous voice betrayed that exhaustion, cutting out as he spoke. Recharge might not be a terrible idea, but he wanted to make sure Starscream was in a better state before even daring to do so. "ATTEmPT To COmFOrT: MAdE"

‘Ping’ [Soundwave: Ok?]Oh no. No, no, no, Primus, no. Slamming his helm would be counterproductive, so Starscream resisted the urge with all his willpower. Clenching his servos, Starscream stayed unmoving, waiting, with a bit of curiosity, to see what would happen. Soundwave’s voice made his helm snap up, but not turn around. Yet. The Seeker squinted, calculating his next move to- ‘Ping’ [Soundwave: NOT OK!!]Starscream’s optics came online as he turned around to face Soundwave, absolutely furious. It was very hypocritical of him, but seeing a loved one hurting themselves always stung more than when he was careless with himself. The difference was, Starscream is much, much, much harder to kill. Despite the rage making his spark tremble, the Seeker sat back down, crossing his arms and nodding. He wasn’t pouting, he was expressing his unhappiness at the state of the other mech. “Yes, yes. I’ll be good. You, are going in recharge right now.”Glaring at Soundwave, Starscream played one of the songs he had played earlier, wanting to drive his point that he’s fine.
For all of the perfect things that I doubt
I'll be good, I'll be good And I'll love the world, like I should Yeah, I'll be good, I'll be good For all of the times I never could

Even in his tired state, Soundwave just barely caught Starscream's glare. It was hard to focus without some rest, but he'd felt it was necessary to use his strength to offer that small bit of physical reassurance to the seeker. He was in desperate need, and it seemed to have done him some good. No telling how much, but at least he was the angry mech Soundwave knew full well. It'd been with the effort, even if Starscream thought otherwise. Listening to Starscream's words as best as possible, the spy simply nodded tiredly before properly sitting down, leaning his back against the window of the cell. Soundwave powered down his visor, listening to the song that played from the next cell over.
Strange how the seeker was playing songs on repeat now, but the former communications officer couldn't argue too much. It was good music, and he knew that the seeker seemed to relate with the lyrics to some degree. There was a temptation to play music back in return, but Soundwave just could not find the energy to do so. His helm bobbed a bit as recharge overtook him, continuing to sit against that window albeit slouched forward a bit. He really did need the rest after using his power so recklessly today, but both attempts had been worth the effort.
Now to hope Ravage was doing well in his search.

Starscream could see the exhaustion all over Soundwave’s frame, biolights flickering worryingly as the Seeker sat there, un-moving, with his arms crossed. The nod from the Spy reassured him, shoulders slouching from their raised positions. He watched carefully as the other bot moved to lean against the window, helm nodding until it finally fell down. The Seeker waited until the song was finished, waiting for his Spark to settle down.
It had been doing somersaults in its casing, worry, hope, mind fog lifted giving him a clear mind again. Starscream was appalled at how the touch had worked wonders into snapping his stupid processor back into something of normalcy.
Fine, he’ll admit it, Soundwave might be showing that he does care. Still, was he really ready to admit to himself that Soundwave would consider a romantic relationship? Between them? Conjux even? No. Not now.
Starscream sighed, putting a servos on the floor, to keep his balance, as he leaned forward, reaching with his other servos to rest it against the force field. It rested where Soundwave was leaning, reassuring even if he couldn’t touch the other bot. That stupid, headstrong, incorrigible, daft, glitch.
When they get out of here, he’s going to punch Soundwave in his stupid hidden face.
The Seeker scooted closer, knees against the field, one servos on his leg, the other against Soundwave’s back plate. In his mind. Starscream didn't have much more music to play, his limited playlist already stretched, so he queued the Discovery album, letting it play in a low volume as he waited for Soundwave to finish his recharge.

The sound of music helped lull Soundwave into a deeper recharge, completely unaware of his surroundings. He was unsure of how long he'd been resting, but he recharged for a good several hours. If he'd known that Starscream seemed to be attempting to help him recharge let alone attempting physical contact through the window separating their cells.. he wasn't sure how he'd take that. He wouldn't call it hate, but he wouldn't call it kinship either. Maybe a bit toward the latter, but regardless of the matter it didn't stop Soundwave from shifting in his recharge, flopping over to rest on his side to rest a bit more comfortably.
But that didn't mean Starscream was entirely alone.
In the darkness lit with dim purple lighting from the cells, the small pitter patter of feet came rushing back into the holding area. A small metallic panther made his way back looking for Soundwave, completely passing up Starscream's cell as Ravage gazed into Soundwave's. The mech was deep in his recharge, and so Ravage promptly sat down right in front of cell door, flicking his tail a bit in his impatience. Looking around, that's when he finally took notice of the seeker sitting opposite of Soundwave from the next cell over. Ravage growled lowly, staring at him.
What did you do, Starscream?

It was kind of endearing to watch Soundwave in his recharge, the shifting of the plates, the pulse of the biolights. With his helm tilted to the side, Starscream let his optics roam over the bot’s form. He hadn’t lied when he had called Soundwave all those nice things, the Spy was quite the specimen. The Seeker absentmindedly ran his digits along the lines of Soundwave's wing from his side of the field, mad at himself for how much he was yearning…
One stupid touch. Seething in his rage was hard when his spark craved another touch, anything physical from Soundwave. Starscream nearly lost it at how cute it was to see Soundwave shift and move in his recharge until he was snuggling on his side, the Seeker moving his servos down to cross it with his other resting in his lap. He was so entranced in watching Soundwave and playing music softly, he didn’t hear Ravage walk by his cage, until he sat down in front of Soundwave’s door.
Oh, Primus.
His panic only grew at the glare and the growl thrown his way, Starscream fighting his instinct to flare his wings and say something mean, losing part of it and landing on saying something mean.
“Please, as if I can make Soundwave do anything. He did this to himself, helping you escape might I add.”
The second time the Spy did it was only between them. Starscream hoped. Still, he shouldn’t antagonize Soundwave’s… children? So the Seeker waved a servos dismissively, trying with a softer tone.
“He’s only recharging, he’s fine.”
Well, that was awkward. Starscream debated cutting the music off but decided to let it play. At least it filled the awkward silence.

Ravage continued to stare at Starscream as he spoke, flicking his tail in annoyance. Of course he knew Soundwave did this to himself, but he remained annoyed anyway. If the seeker was so concerned, why didn't he just tell Soundwave to not? There was probably more context that the Cassetticon wasn't aware of, but that was beside the point. Someone close to him was exhausted, and Ravage hadn't been there to stop it. Though as Ravage voiced his displeasure, that's when the lights on Soundwave's visor lit back up as the mech woke from his recharge. He groan, pushing himself into a seated position before placing a servo to his helm. Rubbing it a couple of times, he glanced over to the side where he saw his precious Cassetticon sitting right outside waiting for him. Internally he smiled a bit, but it was impossible to see thanks to his mask. That's when he also turned to see Starscream sitting right on the other side of the window, looking to him in confusion. Had he been there that entire time? Standing up, Soundwave approached the door and powered his soundwaves up once more so Ravage could jump right back through the opening that was created and back into the cell. Soundwave groaned as he sat right back down next to the window peering into the next cell over as Ravage curled up beside him. "STARSCREAM: RECHARGE?" He didn't know if Starscream got some rest, but it did feel strange that the seeker had apparently stayed there that entire time while Soundwave rested. Although.. now he was going to need a little more rest after letting the panther back in that recharged against him.

Starscream stayed silent as Soundwave woke up and the Spy’s visor turned to the casetticon waiting outside the field. The small reunion seemed to matter a lot to the bots so he stayed out of it, letting the music play in the background. What else was he to do? A movement from next door startled the Seeker, optics staring right into Soundwave’s visor turned towards him. Was that surprise he could read on the Spy?
Faceplate blank, Starscream watched as another hole was made, the spy dipping further into his energy reserves. That’s what this cage did, take energy, sanity, freedom. How he hated this cage. The Seeker also refused to acknowledge that part of him wished Soundwave would use his nifty trick to touch him again. No, bad Starscream, don’t think about that.
Worry flooded him as he watched the Spy stumbled backward against the window after a groan. Still, he didn’t move. Starscream couldn’t help himself from sending a very pointed look to Ravage. See, for you.
‘Ping’ [Soundwave: NOT OK!!]
Yes, thank you for the useless input.
Soundwaved had the audacity to ask if he had recharged. Starscream scoffed, waving a servos dismissively.
“I’m fine. Wouldn’t say the same about you. Get a cube out, refuel and recharge. Then I’ll let you smother me.”
It’s not like he was tired, he’d been relatively calm since his last reboot and the extra fuel had allowed him to finish his self repairs. Soundwave was again in dire need of rest, judging by the way he was staying on the floor. Startscream crossed his arms and made the music slightly louder with a stubborn look in his optics.

As Soundwave rested, he couldn't resist the urge to give Ravage a few quick pets while the panther rested against him before shifting to get just a little more comfortable. It was nice to have him back at his side, and now Soundwave had yet another distraction for the time being. Though there was still the matter of Starscream in the next cell over, barking orders about refueling and recharging. The spy bot stared at the seeker blankly for a moment, then nodded before opening up his subspace to pull out an energon cube. He only had one more left in there aside from what he now held, so he was going to have to be careful with it. He didn't yet know the routines of the guards around here, so there was no telling when they would be receiving their regular fueling. And if not.. someone was going to hurt, and it wouldn't be any of the Decepticons currently locked up. Deciding this once to do so Soundwave retracted his mask to reveal the mouth that he hid underneath directly in a way that Starscream could actually see, bringing the cube to his lips. It's how he always refueled, but he previously did so privately as to not get as many stares. It was both from the exhaustion and wanting to play nice for the moment, allowing the seeker to catch a rare glimpse of the mech behind the mask. Soundwave stared at Starscream once more as he finished off his energon, but as he spoke it was apparent that his mouth did not move. The audio came from his speakers instead. "STARSCREAM: RECHARGE AFTER SOUNDWAVE" Tossing the cube back into his subspace, Soundwave once more leaned against the window as he powered off his visor. He wasn't in recharge yet, but it was hard to tell when his visor wasn't lit.

Starscream was delighted and content to watch Soundwave pet Ravage. Something about the intimate gesture felt like he was intruding on them, but he couldn't take his optics away. So he stayed rooted in his spot, unable to produce a thought or say something sarcastic. The novelties never ceased. Little did the Seeker know, what a treat was he about to be in for. Not only did Soundwave actually listened and acquiesced to the refuelling, this was a turn on far greater than the Seeker had anticipated, but the bot's battle mask slid away to reveal... Well, Starscream's systems had never fried so quickly. Nearly avoided a reboot there. Goodbye overthinking processor, goodbye worried pings, goodbye any rational thoughts. His optics were wide open in shock and nothing else was happening in his helm. For a long time. Longer than he would ever admit. Slowly, his processor regained it's faculties, only one thing barrelling through it. What the Pit?
He always had a suspicion the silent Spy had been high ranking or in some sort of position of power before the war, not that he had spent much time dwelling on it. Now, Stascream suddenly found himself wanting to know every single details of the bot's past. He had some pieces here and there, the Zeta Prime speech another very enlightening fact, but this? This told so much more about the Spy than anything Starscream had learned previously. By process of elimination, the Seeker had a better picture of the bot before him, fascinated by the tableau it had created. He had always assumed Soundwave's vocals or face plate had been damaged, hence the theatricals in which he spoke. With the Zeta Prime speech freshly saved in his databanks, it made it easier to connect the dots between "there is no point in speeches." and the silence for millennia. Even now, as Soundwave stared at him and 'spoke' his faceplate stayed unmoving. Fascinating. Starscream nodded, not wanting to antagonize the bot or ruin whatever truce they had come too. He also didn't trust himself to speak, Primus only knows what kind of stupidity would come out of his intake if he spoke. 'You're gorgeous. I want you as my Conjux. Why did I never try to court you before?'The music suddenly caught Starscream's attention, furious blush spreading on his faceplate as he brought his servos up to hide it, in a desperate gamble to gather whatever was left of his dignity. Ooh, I don't know what to do About this dream and you I wish this dream comes true With offlined optics, he could to stop staring at that mouth for a a few kliks. It was doing things to him and he needed to think. He was... speechless. A very rare thing, the Seeker always had something to say. Now? There's a lot of things he wanted to do, but speaking was last one of them on his list. Kissing Soundwave is all that occupied his processor. How could he not after what he just witnessed? As if to make his life more miserable, his slagging low quality speakers started to play "Something About Us". He was so screwed.

As Soundwave drifted into recharge, it had not gone unnoticed that Starscream had played yet another Daft Punk song. Internally he smirked, but it was not visible for anyone to see. Just for he himself. It had been sheer luck for Starscream that Soundwave had fallen back into recharge with his mask off. It was a rare sight to see for any mech, but Starscream would get the luxury of seeing it for hours to come while Ravage rested next to the blue mech. Many believed that Soundwave just didn't have a mouth under that face mask as many mechs that adorned such facial coverings didn't and simply sipped energon through a straw, but not the spy bot. This had been his way of keeping his vow to never speak his mind again. Instead his thoughts filtered through his crisp and clean subwoofers spoken in the form of monotonous synthesized commands. He could still talk if he really wanted to, but it would take a lot for someone to actually make him want to bother with it. Maybe if Starscream was lucky one day. Ravage was the first to awaken, but he opted to stick by Soundwave's side as the other rested. The panther stretched before he glanced into the other cell, staring directly at Starscream with the swish of his tail. He made no noise, but simply stared just as any other cat would do on Earth. What he wanted was anyone's guess. But it didn't take too long for the former communications officer to awaken from his extended recharge as his visor powered back on. As he rubbed his face plate that's when he realized that he had never placed his face mask back on! Quickly he did so before giving Ravage another pet. Right.. Starscream. Soundwave turned to look into the other cell directly at Starscream. "STARSCREAM: NOW RECHARGE"

As the song ended, Starscream started to feel ridiculous enough to drop his servos down and online his optics. Being faced with a relaxed and vulnerable without his mask Soundwave, felt like a servos squeezing his spark. Awe, guilt, wonder, fear, fascination were all drowning his processor and confusing the Seeker. This felt… wrong. Intruding. With one last look, Starscream turned around slowly to not startle Soundwave awake, resting his back against the window.
He debated turning the music off but it gave him something to focus on. Shifting through his recent memories, Starscream saved a clip of Soundwave refueling without his mask and ‘speaking’ to him, adding it to his reboot files to review at leisure.
He was dreading having to recharge again. Starscream was all too familiar with the routine that came with him waking up from recharge. The feeling only grew when he heard the sound of Soundwave’s mask, then the voice telling him it was his turn.
Starscream nodded, plopping on his side, back still to Soundwave. He stopped the music, closed his optics and sighed. Just before he fell asleep, the Seeker mumbled with sorrow.
“Sorry in advance for the trouble when I’ll wake up…”
